Chapter 8
Emma POV
Riker walked in, wearing dark blue skinny jeans, a dress shirt, and a tie. Wow. He cleans up nicely. His hair was all combed. He had cute blond bangs. Did I just think that!? Whoa... I'm going to really need to concentrate on my thoughts! I have to watch that I don't say something like that! I honestly didn't want to have feelings for him. I didn't think it would be a good choice to date Riker. But I needed to know for sure.
"Emma? Are you ready?" Riker asked.
"Yeah."
I grabbed the bag I was borrowing from Rydel. Rydel packed a mirror, emergency lip gloss, and all this other junk I was almost positive I wouldn't need. The only thing I brought that was mine, was my cell phone.
I walked out of Rydel's bedroom. Riker put his arm around my shoulder as we walked out to his car. This was just weird. Really weird!
He opened the passenger side door for me. I got in, and he closed the door. He got in the other side, and started driving.
"I'm so glad you decided to go out with me," Riker said, smiling.
"Um... Yeah..."
"You look amazing, by the way."
"Uh thanks. So do you. Where are we going?"
"It's a secret."
"Ok..."
"Can you put this on?"
Riker handed me a scarf.
"What?"
"Tie it over your eyes."
I was immediately terrified. If I can't see and he does something to me...
Riker looked at me, so I took the scarf and tied it around my eyes. I was sitting there, trying not to start crying because of how scared I was. I mean, I'd only been living with him for about 2 weeks, he's almost a complete stranger, he's driving me somewhere that I don't know, and I can't see. And it's at night!
I felt tears slipping down my face. I was so scared. I tried to wipe them away without Riker noticing, but I couldn't see him, and I had no idea whether or not he was watching me.
Riker stopped the car. I heard him get out and close his door. A few seconds later, I heard him open my door. He unbuckled my seatbelt and took my hand. But I stayed right where I was.
"Emma? Come on," Riker said pulling my hand.
I got out, and I heard my door close. I heard Riker open another door, and then closed it. He took my hand again, and we started walking. I still couldn't see anything through the blindfold. Everything was dark! And we weren't walking on pavement. It felt like grass.
All I could do was keep walking while Riker held my hand.
"Ok, make sure you walk close to me. Be careful not to trip."
Riker put his arm around my shoulder, holding me closer. We slowed down a little, and it felt like I was walking over rocks! What if he was taking me out into the woods to kill me!?
"Emma! Are you ok!? You're shaking like crazy!"
Riker stopped walking and put his hands on my shoulders. I couldn't tell if he was in front or behind me.
"Emma? Are you crying!?"
I wiped my face with my hands.
"What's wrong!?"
