Chapter 27

Riker POV

"Riker?" Emma whispered.

"Yeah?"

"I just realized something."

"What?"

"I still love you."

"What!?"

"Yeah..."

"What does this mean for us?"

"I don't know. I don't know if I'm ready to have a boyfriend again."

My heart completely sunk.

"Well then why are you telling me this?"

"Because I love you, and I hate seeing you so hurt."

"But if you're not ready to have a boyfriend again yet, I don't want to force you."

"Riker, I don't know if I'm ready. But I want to try this again. I'm sorry for everything I put you through, and if you didn't want to get back together with me, I'll understand."

I pulled Emma more into my arms.

"I love you, Emma. Of course I want to try this again!"

Emma's arms wrapped around my neck. I held her close to me, realizing she was finally mine.

"How does your head feel now?"

"Way better than before."

"Awesome."

"Riker?"

"Yeah?"

"Can we go somewhere?"

"Somewhere, where?"

"To get food."

"Sure."

Emma and I walked downstairs, hand in hand. We both got in my car, and I started driving. I picked a random place, and we went inside. We got a table, and ordered what we wanted. I got a cheeseburger, and Emma just got french fries.

We hadn't really said much else to each other up until this point. I don't think either one of us really knew what to say...

"Riker?"

"Yeah?"

"Can we skip the awkwardness of this, and just skip straight to the I love you part?"

"Sure."

"Awesome."

"I can't believe no one was home when we left."

"Yeah, that was weird. But I think Rydel said something about Ryland's team winning today, so maybe they all went out to celebrate or something."

"Maybe..."

"I missed you so much, Riker. You don't even know."

"I missed you way more than you missed me."

"That might be true. Considering everything that happened..."

"I just hated seeing you with Chase."

"Well I hated seeing you with other girls."

"I'm sorry."

"So am I."

"I just can't mess this up again..."

"You won't."

"How do you know?"

"Because I love you, and you love me, and if you mess up, I'll give you another chance."

"Really?"

"Yeah. I love you, Riker, and I really want this to work."

"So do I..."

Emma and I ate our dinner, and then I drove us back home. Everyone else was home, and were completely oblivious to the craziness we had today. I pulled Emma out the back door so we could talk for a minute. We both sat down in the grass.

"Pretty crazy day, huh?" I asked.

"Yeah..."

"First our fight, then I almost die, then you almost die, then we get back together and act like nothing has happened. I'm exhausted."

"So am I."

I pulled Emma onto my lap, and gave her a hug, which soon turned into a kiss. It felt amazing to have her back.

Rocky walked out, making us break from our kiss.

"What on earth is going on with you two!?" Rocky shouted.

"We're sort of... back together..." I mumbled, smiling.

"How!?"

"It's a long story."

"You guys have to tell everyone else! Rydel's going to freak!"

Rocky went back inside. I grabbed Emma's hand.

"Ready to do this?" I asked.

"Yeah," Emma said, smiling.

We walked inside, holding hands, and told everyone we were back together. Rydel freaked out. She was so excited, and was practically bouncing off the walls. I brought Emma up to my bedroom and shut the door. We sat down on my bed, staring into each other's eyes.

"Emma, I love you more than anything."

"I love you too, Riker."

"Thanks for giving me another chance."

Emma wrapped her arms around me again. We stayed in each other's arms for a while, thinking about how amazing it was to be back together.

It's about what happens when Emma has to go back home in September. But the next story I post will be the sequel to Blind to my Love. I already have that written.
