Back at the Glade

Newt's POV

The sun began to rise, I woke up to the rumbling sound of the doors opening, I got up and run to the doors. We all slept next to the doors so I didn't have to run much. As the doors were fully open, no one was there, neither one of them were at the doors. 'I told you chuck, they weren't going to make it' I said trying not to tear up, my best friends are dead and so is the girl I like, I turned around to go to work. 'No bloody way' I heard one of the gladers say, I turned around to see what they were on about, what the.... There alive. I walked back, 'I can't believe it' I said, neither can I newt, neither can I, but I think we should all thank the greenie, she saved my bloody ass back there' Thomas said looking right at me, the girl saved him, but she's just a girl. 'You saw a griever?' Chuck asked the greenie, 'yeah I did' she said back to him but looking down at Minho, Thomas spoke again, 'she didn't just see it, she killed it' we all looked at her, and she looked up and caught eyes with me. I just wanted to hug her, she's alive and if Thomas is telling the truth, then she also saved my best friend.

Sophie's POV

'She didn't just see it, she killed it' I looked up to see everyone staring at me, but the only person I could really look at was Newt, my eyes were caught on his beautiful hazel eyes. I felt a bit awkward that everyone was looking at me.

All of a sudden everything started to go blurry, I got light headed, I hit the ground. I could hear voices all around me, but couldn't understand what they were saying. Then everything went dark.

*there was flashing images, I couldn't make out anything. I just saw faces and heard voices, there was a women in white, with blonde hair. Everyone was where white lab coats, there was girl about 16 or 17 with brown hair long hair like mine. Then I saw myself, she was talking to me, 'everything is going to change, don't worry'. Then there was another voice 'Sophie remember wicked is good' it kept repeating them words over and over again. I saw water, I felt like I was drowning.*

I gasped for some air, jumping out of my bed, I opened my eyes to find myself on the floor. 'You okay?' I recognised the voice, Newt. I stood up to face him, Thomas was standing next to him, both looking shocked and worried. 'Yeah.. I'm fine, just a bad dream I guess' i looked down to the floor where I just was, 'how's Minho?' I asked Thomas, he looked over to the bed beside mine. 'He looks alright to me' he said, I looked over, he was right he looked pretty calm and peaceful sleeping there, his leg was all bandaged, probably broken.

There was silence for awhile, I was sitting there thinking about the dream I had, it felt so really, but who's Sophie. Is that me? 'Sophie' I whispered to my self, not realising I said it out loud, 'what?' Thomas and Newt both said at the same time.

When I was about to tell them, the door flung open, a big guy came through the door, a guy I have never seen before. 'Alby where have you been?' Newt stood up and walked towards him, that's Alby? He seems so wise. 'No where was just doing business' he told Newt, he walked over to me, and looked me up and down. 'So your the girl everyone is talking about, you look like klunk' he sat down next to me on the bed, did he really just say that, 'ahh... Thanks...' I gave him a disgusted look, maybe I do look like klunk but still he shouldn't say that to a girl. He laughed a little while, but stop when he realised no one else was laughing.

Loud noises started to ringing out the Glade, it sounded like a massive alarm going off. All the boys looked confused, 'the box' Thomas said in confusion, they all ran out of the room. I ran after them to see what's going on, it hasn't been a month yet and Newt said it comes up every month, I only came up 2 day ago. I finally reached the box, everyone in the Glade already surrounded the box, I pushed myself to the front to see. Newt and Alby both opened up the gates, and Newt jumped in. 'It's another girl'.

The girl looked like the one from the dream I had, with long brown hair. She looked dead, but you could see her breathing. 'What's in her hand?' Gally asked, Newt bent over and took the note out of her hand, 'she's the last one' he read out, 'what the bloody hell is that supposed to mean' he continued. The girl flew up having a massive gasp for air, everyone jumped back a little, 'Thomas, Sophie' she gasped, staring right at me and Thomas, she collapsed back down, smacking her body on the metal box. I looked at Thomas who was already staring at me and then looked to everyone else who was all looking towards Thomas and I.

'Sophie? That's your name' I heard Chuck say, interpreting the awkwardness of everyone staring, I nodded in agreement.

We brought the new girl to Med-Jacks, and waited for her to awaken. 'You know her?' Newt asked both me and Thomas, we both looked at each other and nodded, 'no' Thomas said. 'Well she seems to know you two' Newt demanded.

'We should just wait until she's awake and ask how she knows her' I suggested, I looked over at Newt who had his arms crossed. 'Right, Greenie is right' Gally walked into the room and gave me a smirk, 'my name isn't greenie it's Sophie!' I demanded and glared towards Gally, I pushed him out of my way and stormed out. 'What's her problem' I heard Gally say and then laugh.

Newts POV

'What's her problem' Gally said and then laughing, no one laughed with him, not even Alby. 'Your the problem' I walked passed him and went out the room to try find Sophie.

I've been looking for an hour trying to find her, and it will be dinner soon. She hasn't eaten anything since lunch time yesterday, so she can't miss dinner tonight. I'm in the DeadHeads now, I'm not sure she'd be in here because it's quite creepy here, but it's worth a try.

I heard stones hitting off a tree, I looked around to see where it was coming from. Then I saw Sophie sitting on the ground against one of the trees, throwing rocks. I walked over to her, 'hey greenbean' she turned around and stared at me for a few seconds then turned back around and threw another stone. She really likes throwing stones or rocks, I sat down next to her, 'I've noticed that you like throwing things' I told her, I looked at her smiling. She stopped herself from throwing the stone in her hand and dropped it on the floor, and giggled.

'You do know my name right Newt?' She faced me and her smile dropped, 'of course I do Sophie' I said, she smiled, then picked the same stone up and threw it.  She seemed a little upset, 'hey, don't worry about Gally he's just a shank' I told her while putting my arm around her to assure her, 'more like an asshole' she said so serious, I couldn't help but laugh at her comment about him. When I stopped laughing I noticed that she was staring at me with her eyebrows raised, 'sorry' I whispered, my smile disappeared, until she lay her head on my shoulder. I felt butterflies in my stomach, I've never felt butterflies before, not that I can remember that is. I looked down her her too see she was already looking at me, smiling. 'Is Newt blushing?' she said giggling, I felt my cheeks getting warmer, 'no' I said, she giggled a bit more and put her head back down on my shoulder, 'whatever you say Newt'. I could still see that she was smiling, and I couldn't help but smile even more, she's so cute.
