I walk into a small gray room with nobody in it, "hello? Is anybody in here? Hello? Hello!"
My English teacher walks into the room and smiles at me, "hi Chloe."
"Miss Smith?" I ask. "What are you doing here?"
She smiles as she walks over to me, "you're so pretty Chloe."
"Well duh!" I roll my eyes. "I mean look at me."
She sighs as she shakes her head, "Chloe, you need to learn your lesson."
"What lesson?" I ask her. "I'm perfect."
"You're gonna need some clothes," she smiles as she looks at me.
I quickly ask, "shopping?"
"Yes, but you have a budget," she informs me.
"A budget!" I scream loudly. "What the hell? No!"
Miss Smith walks over to me, "then you won't go shopping, simple as that."
"No! No! No! How much are you giving me?" I sigh.
She writes a check slowly, "fifty bucks."
"Fifty?" I ask. "That's it?"
"Now you have a date to get ready for, I do believe," she smiles. "Goodbye miss Chloe. Have fun."
I wake up and look over at my end-table to see fifty dollars. I grab the check and walk over to my dressers. I throw back on my jeans and heels from yesterday. "Sodapop, I need a shirt!"
"Check in the closet," he yells back to me. "There's clothes in there."
I walk over to the closet to see jeans, shirts, work pants, sweaters, dresses, just everything. It's not my style, but whatever. I flip through the closet until I see an outfit, that I swear I've seen before. I pull out the small red dress. It's just a basic tight until it gets to your waist than flows out tank top dress. I look at the bottom to see a Hollister bird and smile as I remember what this dress is from. My mom got it for me on my fifteenth birthday. It came with some other stuff. I quickly rummage through the closet until I find the black pumps, scarf, black diamond earrings, and black headband that go with it.
I sit on my bed with all my expensive stuff and I feel this huge wave of sadness come over me. A few tears slide down my cheeks as I think of my mom and all I want is a nice warm hug from her. I want her so bad right now. I wipe away the tears sadly as they won't stop coming. As they finally slow down. I slowly get dressed before looking in the mirror to see my face still red and blotchy. I go to reach into a nonexistent pocket for make-up and sigh sadly. "Whatever," I mumble to myself as I walk downstairs.
"Morning Chloe," Sodapop jumps up as he smiles.
I smile at his high energy. I don't know what it is about Soda, but he can always make me smile, "morning Sodapop. Can we go shopping today?"
"Well, I don't see why not," he smiles as he stands up. "I have twenty bucks."
I chuckle softly, "fifty."
"You win," he smiles as he grabs my hand.He quickly drops my hand, "oh my god! I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to like grab your hand."
I smile slightly as I interlock out fingers, "it's okay Sodapop, calm down. I like you."
"I like you too," he speaks softly. I find myself leaning into his lips as he does the same happily.
I jerk away quickly, "this is wrong! I'm going on a date with your friend tonight."
