Chapter 14: What the...

Carly's POV

I stood there in shock as I watched Alpha Mark come closer to Willow. When he reached her, his arms slid around her waist and pulled her closer. Her hair pushed over to reveal his mark on her which showed that she belonged to him as a mate.

"Alpha Mark? Willow? Mates... What the... Did I miss something?" I asked as confused as I was from just escaping everything that revolved around Damon and whatever from over there. I shouldn't be very shocked at this new piece of information, I did just come to the reality of being some type of Princess hybrid that shouldn't be on the face of the Earth.

"No, you didn't miss much. Mark and I have been mates for a while now." Willow replied as Mark whispered something in her ear which made her smile and giggle. I felt a pang of jealousy as I knew that I would never get that with Shane or Damon. They were both most likely just after the crown. Nothing more, nothing less.

"Anyway, why am I here?" I asked as I hoped to change the subject from something that would never change. It brought sorrow to my heart and soul that I would never have what they do.

"You are here because you have a journey and a destiny in all of this. I am here as your guide and Mark is here to help." Willow once more explained. I was curious to know what I had to do, but at the same time I was wondering what would happen to everyone else. What happened to Alex? I was suppose to run away from everything with her. What about Damon? I was suppose to be his prisoner according to him. What about Mom and Danny? I was suppose to have a normal human life with them. What about Shane? I was suppose to start liking him. What about Dustin, Luke, Amanda, and Tanya? They were my friends. What about Aunt Maddy and Rory? I was suppose to become a princess according to them. What happened to my life? I couldn't help but notice that I was never going to return to the way things once were. I would always be stuck with this kind of situation.

"Willow and I can't tell you what you have to do but we guide you to where you're going to be. Questions is: Are you ready?" Alpha Mark asked me as he watched my every move.

Was I ready for this? For a future in this? To go in the unknown? I wouldn't know until I try.

"Let's get it started." Was all I said in reply to a question that would change my life forever. Willow smiled and walked side by side with Alpha Mark. Surprisingly, I didn't mind her presence near me unlike some people that I just met.

"Perfect. Now, we have to start the journey to accomplish your destiny. First things first, you must accept your challenge out loud. Repeat after me." She said and I nodded in agreement. Then, she proceeded with what I had to say. "I, Carly McRay, Hybrid Princess of the Immortal Witches, here by accept my journey and destiny from so on and so forth."

I did as she directed. I repeated her words and a light began to shine near by, which was extremely strange. Willow somewhat approached the glowing ball of light which was situated beside me. It began glow even more with every move closer towards it. I looked at Willow for answers to this glowing ball. She gestured to move closer to it. I followed her directions as it grew bigger and bigger until it seemed to swallow me into it. The light did eventually swallow me whole. I appeared into a different room. The room was pure white and gave a certain amount of light just like the glowing ball. I wasn't with Willow and Alpha Mark anymore, I was alone.

I didn't understand. Willow said that she would stay for the journey. I was now lost in a place that I don't know anything about. My heart raced, my blood pumped faster, my mind began to slightly freak, and my body stiffened. I didn't know where I was anymore. Alone and lost, I began to ponder what was Willow thinking. Was I really just dreaming about all of this and this was the end of it all. Clearly not, a voice boomed through the entire room which never seemed to end.

"Carly McRay, Hybrid Princess, are you ready to begin your journey with ones self?" The voice had no gender, it was just a voice that seemed to just be there without a body. A voice without a body wouldn't surprise me as much anymore, in this world anything was possible.

"Yes. What do I do first, whom ever you are?"

Alex's POV

"Carly?" I whispered at her door. "You there?"

She didn't respond, I assumed that she was probably sleeping so I entered her room.

"What the..." I whispered in horror.

It was nightmare. Her room was mess as if she was stolen. Kidnapped. I couldn't tell by who it was. In this situations, it would be the vampires and I know that I'm right. I searched her entire room for trails as to where they went. The only one possible was the balcony.

I began to fear for my friend's life, only Dustin and I cared about her. The others were only there because they had orders and over time they began to actually be friends with her. I wasn't sure if they were acting or actually friends with her. I met and befriended her before we even got the order. She was nice and didn't like me because of my ranking but she liked me for me. I liked her for her too. I assumed that Shane was in it for another reason. As for Dustin, I really do like him and he's been under a truth serum that means that he told me the truth. He does like Carly and I for us. Amanda is the same as him also. Tanya and Luke are unknown on that point. Shane, Tanya, and Luke aren't very much trusted.

Carly is my best friend, no matter what we stick together. I wasn't about to leave her get captured and die a terrible death. Either place we would go would end in her death, all except the human world. She was safe there. I felt like hurting Shane when he told me she went into our world. It scared me to know that she could have been hurt or worse, killed. She's family. I only have her, Amanda, and Dustin as family. My parents were there up till the point that I was able to join the Queen's warriors, from then on out, I was only a tool to go higher into the ranks. My parents do love me but they live their dreams through me. I love them to death but it is my life and I have to live it. In our world, you can do as you please as long as it follows the laws of the world.

Anyway, I searched for where they went from the balcony. I couldn't tell where but I knew deep down that it was a vampire from the Blood Kingdom. My eyes scanned the area to find any possible clues as to where my best friend went. My heart ached a bit at the disappearance of Carly, the girl who was like a sister to me. My thoughts whispered to go see up close.

As soon as my thoughts gave the idea, I rushed out of her room and out the door to where her balcony lead out. I had to get a closer look. I wouldn't let my best friend go without finding her. My eyes scanned the area once more. I found a trace of vampire equipment. It was royal equipment. I knew that I had to get help from those who I could trust. I needed Amanda and Dustin. I couldn't get Shane, Tanya or Luke. I liked them a bit, not much since I couldn't trust them.

As soon as I realized that I needed help as much as I didn't want to, I was off to get them both. My eyes watered a bit and the pain of loss showed. I needed to get her back, I needed my best friend.

"For Carly." I whispered as I began to leave to go find her.
