Luke's POV

Run.

That's all that I had to do to survive. I couldn't let Shane decide my fate. You know what I'm saying, right? You have been paying attention, haven't you, reader?

He's been this way for a long while now. He still acts like he once was. Shane is no longer the Shane we knew. Tanya either. Something's changed and I can't say what.

The author won't let me even have my assumptions to be told to you. You need to find out on your own. Don't worry, though, I'll be here.

As long as Shane doesn't... you know.. get me.

Now, where can I go that wouldn't lead me to a certain death by an old friend?

The forest.

That's a place that Shane wouldn't attack. He'd never dare to step inside such a place. Do you know why, my dear?

He's afraid.

Afraid of the past. Afraid of what was once current reality but now, is just a nightmare.

When we were kids, he used to drag me out there to play hide-and-seek. We did this until the one summer day when he got lost. We never got told about what happened to him and I doubt the author will mention it. All I can say is that he changed after that. It only got worse after some years.

You're probably wondering why I know you're a reader, I'm some character and this is all a story that I can hear all the time. I can hear what Carly has been doing or the others too but it's not for me to tell. I can't change the story because I'm not behind the typing but merely a pawn on a chessboard.

You know everything that I know so far but I might know more in the past than you do. I'll enlighten you when the author lets me.

As for Carly, she might not be the same "human" girl we once knew. She might not even be Carly at all. The others aren't exactly as they usually are since time does change a person, you know. Alex might be similar to the old one but she's changed and as has Dustin. Damon... well, Damon is Damon. He's old and probably has changed as much as a page in a Game of Thrones book.

Back to the fact that I'm running. I'm running and my legs are burning like Hell. My throat is sore and also burning. My lungs hurt and are burning too. My entire body feels like.. well I think you get the point that I feel like I'm burning from the inside-out. Except, that's not what we're suppose to focus on. No, no. We need to know that I'm half way up the hill that leads to the forest with Shane hot on my ass.

From this point, I can hear the forest and all of its mystery but I can also hears Shane threatening worse things than death.

"LUKE! I SWEAR THAT WHEN I GET MY FUCKING HANDS ON YOU, YOU WILL BE NOTHING BUT TEETH AND BONES!" The thing that seemed to be Shane shouted more and more threats as he sped up. His eyes filled with rage and determination to murder me followed my every move to get away.

Those eyes are his but the way he is no longer matched our dear old Shane. He was once a kind soul but now he wants my head on plater.

"Gotta go, Shaney!" I shouted back while moving forward without sparing a glance to the angered thing behind me.

A growl came from behind and I knew he was getting closer. His footsteps hurried and his breaths were uneven for his usual hunting-run. The thing was not giving up. See, dear reader, we always know that this isn't acceptable behavior... but it's Shane on crazy. Luckily for me, the forest was in full view as my feet managed to touch the final parts of the hill and run off deep into the forest. Shane's steps stopped and he huffed. The thing screamed out in frustration which lead the birds to fly out of the trees and he left quietly with what I can assume a plan for my beheading.

I didn't bother to pay any more attention towards what was behind me as I continued forward. The forest seemed to engulf me as I ventured further to follow where the others were. I know, I'm not allowed to say much but we all know that's where the author is sending me. They are allowing me to say that much. But, dear reader, there is so much more that you couldn't possibly know since she won't allow me to say anything more than hints here and there so please pay attention when I say them.

As I was saying, my footsteps were beginning to drag on as I got deeper and deeper into the forest. The crows were making loud noises and the animals were doing their typical animal thing. My footsteps dragged on. The noises began to drown into the silence that I approached. I couldn't tell why the author would do this but goosebumps went down my back from the lack of information that I was allowed to know.

Was I close to the rest of them?

Was I about to encounter Death?

At this point, I just continued on into the eerie silence. Even my dragging footsteps couldn't be heard. I stopped as a loud scream erupted from a further side of the forest. As much as I hate running towards my death, something told me that the author wasn't going to end me anytime soon. They were leading me to where the others were and from what I could distinguish, it didn't sound the best.

As I began to see them, I noticed that they were divided and Carly hadn't shown up yet. I was here earlier than I anticipated. Damon was on the one side as Mark stayed on the other. Wolves were all around, Willow was on the ground, and it was Hell on Earth.

"What the Hell is going on here?" I shouted without context to attempt and grab their attention without giving away that Carly was about to get out any second now.

All heads turned my way and I knew that Carly should hurry up before I became food for the dogs.

***
Hey there! Long time no read. So... how's life? I know. I haven't updated in a while but I have started again. Just be patient.

What do y'all think about Luke? He's interesting when I started to think about his aspects. At first, he was going to be more of a side character but then, he might be useful to work as a communicator with you, dear reader.

Thank you for reading!

Till next time, dear.
