Carly's POV
I ran through the crowd of people, looking for that one person. That one man. Once I got close enough, I made my move. BAM. Blood spilled down his neck emerging from where my throwing knife had been embedded from a far. With my sword at my side and a gun at the waist of my pants, I approached his body. The older man laid there in a pool of his own blood as his hands grasped his neck to stop the blood flow. His gray-turning-white hair had now been stained with blood, his skin had started to become pale and his war uniform was stained with blood. Gory but I watched seeming pleased.
"I told you. Don't tell me what to do, General." I said in a poisonous tone.
He attempted to formulate a response but it never made its way. His dead eyes were now staring back at me with a whisper of death. A small promise.
I jumped out of my bed with horror. Even in my nightmares, I killed. Kill or be killed, right? I chuckled lowly, as if I were going mad, as I walked to to do what I had to do that morning. For today, I decided to ignore the nightmare. It didn't mean anything. Did it?
That morning, I knew that training to kill wasn't over. As I walked out into the gym dressed in my training clothes, I was right. A hologram was awaiting me in the middle of the room. They weren't there for a tea party, they were there for a fight. Spirit must love to torture my soul.
I quickly grabbed the gloves nearby and put them on as I ran towards the male holograph. The faster I end him, the faster the training will end. Up to now, I've controlled my blood lust, my strength, my speed and quite a few other ones too but this was by far the worst. Hopefully, this is the last one.
A punch to the face knocked me out of my thoughts and this signified the beginning of the fight. He punch once again. I received it to the face. As he went for a kick, I managed to grab his foot and flip him to the floor. I stood up waiting for more. Blood trickled down my lip but I wasn't going to go and cry. This is a fight to get out of this Hell. I watched as he picked himself up. I kneed him to the chest and kicked him over to the floor again. When he got up, he aimed to punch my jaw but I dodged it and I aimed for his. He fell back a bit.
Still no sound from Spirit.
After a while of the same routine, I aimed for the man's chest and I punched. Thus, making him fall back a bit. So, I kicked and he landed on the floor. Then, I got down and punched him until his body disappeared. Dead. He's gone.
As I got back up, I brushed myself off in silence. I knew Spirit was watching. What a joke. No. A cruel joke. I know that I could bargain to leave but that wouldn't be a smart decision on my part since I feel like I'm so close to the end.
"Spirit? Am I done? How many more, huh? I'm not meant to fight! I'm meant to be a troubled teenager who wants to be friends and possibly go to college or university eventually!" I shouted as I looked up. Of course, Spirit wouldn't be there but I need to look somewhere.
"You are yet to find more of yourself, child. You have managed to fight well. Soon, you will learn with a weapon." Spirit said. Finally, they answer me. But, they ignored my rant as usual.
"I know I fight well. I used to take classes a few years ago. Wait, what do you mean by weapons?" The last part got me fearful but also interested since I have always had a certain love for weaponry. Except, that means that now, I will have to fight with them. I always found it easier to fight with fists.
Soon enough, the gym had become a weaponry armoire. As I admired the inside, I removed my gloves to find the perfect beauty. Or maybe two or three. Spirit was talking about my next fights and what I could improuve, but I honestly didn't care. My fingers trailed along the walls and I examined every piece of gorgeousness. After a while of Spirit's babbling, I found the most beautiful sword and a flashback to the nightmare had shown that it was the sword I had there. It didn't matter to me, it was a work of art and I had to have it. So, I picked it up. Spirit was still talking. I placed the beauty in it's sheath and I made sure that attached to my side. Afterwards, I went out looking for more. Like in the nightmare, I found the magnificent gun, a .45 caliber. Oh, it was beauty. I placed it at the waist of my pants at the back. Soon, I continued to find one last beauty to finish my collection of masterpieces. After walking along the knife section, I found a belt of throwing knifes. It was magnificent and I wanted it. So, I placed it on me.
"Spirit, I have chosen my weapons." I affirmed.
"Good. Now, I will send you to practice will the dummies then with the holograms. This way, you will get a feel of the weapon." Spirit announced.
"Actually, I chose a sword, a gun and a selection of throwing knifes." I replied as I revealed my weapons.
"Seems as if you have chosen the same as the last capable hybrid. Good choice." Spirit said as the armoire changed back to the gym.
Instead of a hologram waiting for me, it was a few dummies in the middle of it all. Today was going to be a better day. I can feel it. I thought of freedom as I began to practice with my new masterpieces.
