Divergent FBI

Chapter 3

Tris' POV

I'm about to go to lunch with Uriah and Marlene right now and to be honest, I'm kind of nervous. What if I get close with them and they find out I'm on the FBI. Other people could find out and then the murderer would flee or try to catch me.

"Six. Six, you in there?" Marlene says and snaps me out of my daze.

"Yeah, sorry, I spaced." She nods and leads me to a table with three girls and three boys sitting at it.

We sit down I look to my right and find out that I'm sitting next to Four.

"Hi Four." I say and he looks at me.

"Hey." He grins and looks back to a boy that looks like an older Uriah.

"Guys this is Six. Six, this is Christina, Shauna, Lynn, Zeke, Will, and I guess you already met Four." She says and wiggles her eyebrows.

"Well, It's nice to meet you all. Now does anyone know where to get some good cake around here?" I ask, trying to act casual.

When I'm keeping secrets, I have a hard time acting casual even though I could just talk normally. But I don't want to get caught so I tend to overdue all that I have to do.

"Come with me!" Uriah says grabbing my arm and dragging me to the lunch line where he grabs a slice of cake and hands it to me.

He then drags me back to the table.

"Thanks." I say and take a bite.

Everyone looks at me, waiting for a reaction I guess.

"I've had better." I say and Uriah looks like he's about to faint. Literally.

"Hey, your pale. Come here." I tell Uriah and put a napkin with a little water on his forehead to make sure he doesn't faint.

"Well, there goes my dreams of you being my bestie."he says and I chuckle a little with the rest of our friends.

"Rachel, I'm telling you that nothing looks suspicious at that school." I say frustrated and she gives me a look.

"I get that it was your first day, but you need to keep a closer eye on everyone. Your friends, and strangers. And make sure the person you suspect is the killer isn't being framed." She says and looks back down at her paperwork.

"I know how it works, I'm on the FBI for a reason. Why are all of a suddenly underestimating?  You trusted me yesterday." I say and she puts her pen down.

"I'm not sure if you'll be able to concentrate on this mission with that partner of yours. He's good looking and can make anyone forget what they're supposed to be doing. I'm sorry if you think I'm underestimating me, but I'm just making sure you don't get sidetracked." Before I can respond someone else speaks up.

"So you think I'm good looking." I look behind me and see Four. Speaking of the devil.

"You are, but I'm not going to be distracted." I say and shoot Rachel a look.

"Well then every monthly check-up, I want to see progress. And a lot of it." she says and I nod.

"I'll be back in a month." I say and walk out without another word.

I can hear footstep following me but I ignore them and head towards the training room to blow off some steam before I leave. I go to the targets and grab some knives but before I throw any a hand grabs my shoulder and turns me around. My eyes meet dark blue ones, and I realize it's Four.

"Hey, was Rachel giving you a hard time?" he asks and grab a knife from my hand to throw.

"Yeah." I say and turn around to throw the knife at the same time he does. Dead center for both.

"Well don't listen to her at the moment. I can tell you wouldn't let my extremely good looks get in the way of your work. Oh, and don't forget my hot bod." He says with a wink and I roll my eyes but smile. "But seriously, don't let her put you down and make you think of yourself as weak or incapable."  

"Thanks, I wasn't going to either way. It might be her time of the month either way." I say and both of us laugh.

So far, I know that I have a great partner and friends. Next thing to do is find out who this murderer is.

I'm on an updating spree if you couldn't tell. I'm extremely sorry for taking so long to update this, I just never had much motivation and didn't really care for it at the time, but I'll try to update more often. Anyways, please like and comment as you please. Love you inititates!
