Love, lust and crazy

The visit

I was on the top of the world . This is the sensation that the ring gave me . Someone out there was mine and God decided he was Joe . Joy knocked on my door with both hands this time . She was even happy to be here . My heart was blooming , i felt that he expended . I could've hugged the whole city at once . I was on my way home to find my parents and announce the news to them when i was stopped by someone in the middle of the street , two blocks away from home.

Drake passive face met mine and he said before i could take in his weird empty eyes , that stared every where but into mine . 

" Hi , what's up Se ?"

" Oh , Drake . I'm cool and you ?"

" I'm living . How's school ?"

" School is just fine ."

" Okey catch you later then ."

"Okey , bye . "

He was cold to me , but i knew it was going to be like this when we meet . The day i put Mia under the ground , I burried Drake with her . His face said so . My heart collapsed at the thought but there was no time for sadness now . I wanted us to stay friends but opinions were different . Death is a major factor of change , and change is vital .

" Mom , Dad , Oscar , Are you guys home ? " I yelled as i made my way to the house .

" Yes , Sisi we're here ." Oscar replied

" Why are you both screaming like crazy in the living room ? " Mom said

" Mom , come downstairs . I need to talk to you and dad . I have some news . "

" Okay , here we are coming Se ." My father yelled back

" Can you both stop screaming ." My mother said in an exausted voice .

My heart was making hundred beats in one second as my parents made their way to the room .
" i am engaged " i said in a hurry , it was quick and stress full .
" what ? How ? " my father said shocked . Mom was making a funny face , i knew she was happy . She really liked Joe .
" Joe proposed this morning , and i said yes . "
"Wow, isn't it so soon . " my father said in a worried tone .
" it's the right time dad , i love him . We are flying to meet his parents this afternoon . "
" Darling when did you grew up so fast ? " mom's voice was cracking and her eyes were filled with tears.
I hugged her immediately , it's like her arms were the place that i can always call home . Dad and Oscar joined us for a group bear hug . I guess we stayed like that for a while , holding on for each other like nothing matters more .
My mother took a look on my ring she said it's like i was wearing my personality ( as pretty , as simple ) . She also mentions that Joe must be knowing me very well , even if i was hard to predict .

I was just done with my small suit case for our little visit to Chicago , an hour before the arrival of my fiancé , when i remembered that Lilly must be waiting for my report on the night at Joe's , but i guess now she will be shocked to hear and to understand what i have to say .
She answered in two brief seconds , i laughed deep down at her excitement .
" yo dogface , you should've called sooner "
" hey , i am still the birthday girl i guess . "
" no we're done with your birthday . "
" thanks for the dress , it granted me a wish . "
" which one , spending an exotic night with the hot beast of yours ? "
" actually yes , but another thing as well . "
" Come on tell me already , i am growing old here ."
" okay , JOE POPPED THE QUESTION . "
" WHAT ??????? If you are playing me , i swear i can kill you . "
" No , i am not . I will send you a photo of the ring on whatssap . "
" Jesus , you are engaged . I cannot be more exited "
" neither will i , i have to go. We're flying to Chicago to meet his parents . I am nervous ."
" they will love you don't worry , How could they not ?You are the ultimate choice of Joe Roberts . I love you bye . "
" Bye babe . "

New york to Chicago was a very amusing flight . Joe and i as always laughed all of the time . He was really my best friend now , and i could have trusted him with my life since he was my life . We had it all , but the amusement of being together , of breathing together was the king of all our feelings . He was the one i wanted for life , and this was the ring i wished to wear forever . It was not just a few sweet words that defined my feelings , it was beyond an ocean and as red as a fire . He was warm, and in life  the sensation of warmth in the hands of love matters as much as oxygen does .
We parked in front of his house's big blue door . The driver's name was Harold , he opened the car's left door for us with his smile that made me feel a bit of rest . The butterflies in my stomach were really focusing on running around Like a bunch of crazy .
I held on strongly to Joe's arm , he felt my discomfort and leant closer to my ear saying " you are beautiful  Serena . "
I smiled at his words , and i adjusted my short red dress , and my coat while i made two steps to be closer to the door , my loud boot's heals made me more confident , it's like Mia had an eye always on me . She was my garden angel .

Sandra and Mark Roberts opened the door for us , revealing to me the reason of Joe's good looks , his mother's eyes on his father's face gave Joe the mutual beauty of them both . Their house was a piece of art , it's like everything was exactly in the perfect place . A sophisticated place that welcomes you once you are inside.
" Here she is finally . " Sandra said as she pulls me in a hug , i hugged her back as well .
" Hello Miss's Roberts , Good evening Sir . "
" oh no darling , call us Sandra and mark . " Joe's father said as he was shaking my hand .
" I guess i will come back later then ." Joe said in a hilarious baby tone .
" oh Joe , you must have known you will be forgotten if you brought home such a beauty . " Sandra made me flush with her comment .
" Oh , she's flushing . " Mark said .
" The last shy girl in New York . " Joe said while kissing my cheek . I was dying with embarrassment , everybody was laughing at my red tomato face .

The dinner was very delicious , Joe's mother was a really good cook . So far that was the main meal of my life . The evening was perfect in the company of the Roberts . I felt like i was home , it was one of the times that the realization hits  you with a punch in the soul that moves all your previous thoughts and gives you a hard shake . I realized that family is precious , it's the only thing that keeps us strong and that gives us the protection that  we need to face the world dark places  . A thought of Mia crossed my heart since she was family to me . Loosing family is devastating . I experienced it before , I secretli wished i'll never taste it again .
