Chapter 15

"There you are!" Audrey exclaims as she sees me later in the day.

"Hey Audrey!"

"I have to tell you something right now."

"Umm how about later? I have to get to lunch." I say as I start walking to the cafeteria to look for Aaron.

"NO! I have to tell you something now!" Audrey calls from behind.

I ignore her and walk into the cafeteria. I look around for the football team because Aaron is always with them.

I don't see any sign of the football team. I start to feel sad. All of my friends are with their boyfriends and I don't feel like third wheeling for anyone.

I was looking for Aaron until somebody covers my eyes with their hands from behind as they whisper "guess who?"

Not paying attention to the voice, I smile and take the hand away from my face and turn around.

"Aaron!" I say loudly, but then let out a gasp. It wasn't Aaron alright.

I see a familiar brunette-headed boy with brown eyes and a pale face facing me with a huge grin on his face.

It was Chase!

"CHASE?!?" I ask, in complete shock that he's in front of me right now.

"SURPRISE ALLY!" He says smiling at me.

"What are you doing here?"

"Nice to see you too. Well, my parents didn't like the other school so they moved me to this high school. I got to see you again, so I couldn't say no."

I blush and smile.

"Who's Aaron?" He asks.

"Oh umm... He's my.." Before I can finish Aaron calls me.

I turn around to see Aaron walking toward me. He looks confusedly at Chase as he puts his arm around my shoulder.

"Are you going to go get lunch?" Aaron asks.

"Umm yeah... I just ran into an old friend." I say.

This was very awkward for me. My ex with my current boyfriend meeting each other.

"This is Chase... He's my..."

"Friend" Chase says interrupting me. "You must be the famous Aaron Carter, every girl drools over." Chase says politely holding out his hand to Aaron.

Aaron takes his hand.

Why didn't Chase say ex boyfriend?

I guess it's better that Aaron doesn't know. Not now anyways.

"How about we go get lunch." I say trying to get away from this really awkward atmosphere.

So that's what Audrey wanted to tell me... I should have listened to her before getting away to look for Aaron. I've started to sit with the football team at lunch now, so as Aaron and I walk over to the table Chase looks around the cafeteria looking for a place to sit.

"Hey come sit with us." I say

"Are you sure? I don't think they like newbies." He says plainly.

"Positive. We have to catch up! Now come on I'm starving."

Aaron sits downs and starts talking to his buddies as I talk to Chase.

"I see you've already found a replacement." Chase says with a blank expression, clearly referring to Aaron.

I roll my eyes and say

"What was I going to do? Cry everyday after school that we broke up. Don't act like you didn't find a new girl at your old school."

"I didn't... I couldn't stop thinking about you" He says, sadly.

"What you guys talking about?" Aaron interrupts.

"Nothing. We're just catching up." I say.

"Let's go. We have to get to class" Aaron says.

Aaron wanting to go to class? Very unusual.

I say bye to Chase and follow Aaron.

Chase's POV

She found somebody new... Already. I guess I should be happy for them. When I found out I was going to go to the same high school as her, I was really happy. And seeing her again was the happiest moment of my life.

I should move on... It's been about 3 or 4 months since our break up. I should get over her. The problem is, I can't. Maybe I will over time, hopefully. My goal is just be a really good friend to her for now.
