Chapter 17

"Well that was cuh-white a good movie." Chase says, smiling.

He say the strangest things on earth, I swear he's the weirdest of them all.

"Yeah it was pretty good." I say, nodding in agreement. I receive an incoming text from Aaron

[Hey. Do you want to go somewhere tonight?-Aaron]

Not bothering to answer the text instead, I asks out loud.  

"Hey Chase, what time are you taking me home?" I ask.

"ohh so you want to leave me already? I see."

"No... I'm just curious as to what time and I don't want to go home so late that my mom will ground me again."

"I'll take you home at 9. Is that ok?"

It is just 4pm and I really want to go out with Aaron tonight.

"umm can you take me home now?" I ask.

"Right now? It's so early..."

"oh um my mom wants me to be home early." I lie casually.

I have stop to lying. Why can't I just tell him I am going with Aaron? I don't even know.

"Alright I'll take you home." Chase says.

I grabs my phone and text Aaron: [Yeah I can go. Pick me up at 6. -Ally]

For the ride home I didn't even talk to Chase at all. It was a very awkward silence the whole way to my house. If the radio wasn't on, it would have been even more awkward.

All I can think about is how to tell Aaron. Will he freak out? Will he understand? Would he consider that cheating?

"We're here." Chase says as he pulls up on my driveway.

For some strange reason I feel like he can tell I'm lying. So to make it better I say,

"I had a great time. Sorry that I have to leave so soon."

"Nah it's fine." Chase says, casually.

I smile and walk up to my house and close the door behind me. I peep out the window to see if Chase pulled away from the driveway.

Once he's out of sight, I sigh with relief. I hate lying to people. But what was I supposed to say? I don't like hurting people. I mean he should understand. Aaron is my boyfriend. But I just can't bring myself to tell him.

For the rest of the day, until 6pm, I lay on my bed thinking of how I'm going to tell Aaron about Chase's and I hangout.

My phone buzzes and interrupts my thoughts.

[I'll be there in 5 minutes :)- Aaron]

My heart races. He's going to be here so soon! I run to my closet and grabs a navy blue sweatpants and a tanktop, with a white hoodie.

I change as fast as I can and then my doorbell rings. I brush my hair real quick and run downstairs.

I open up the door and Aaron is standing before me, wearing basketball shorts and a green Hollister shirt. Looks like both of us are wearing casual clothes tonight.

"Hey!" I say, walking out of the house.

"Hey." He says, smiling at me. That smile I love so much.

He takes my hand and walks me to his car. He opens the door for me and I thank him as I walk in.

He then comes in and as he pulls out my driveway he says, "We're going to see the new Tom Cruise movie. I figured you might like it." He says smiling.
