Chapter 24
Aaron's POV
Blake had planned an epic Friday for me. We went out to his friend's party and got totally wasted. After that, we went to the gasoline market and bought a bunch of eggs and toilet paper. We wrecked a complete stranger's house.I had totally forgotten about her because I was having a great time with my brother. He may be a bad influence but he sure knows how to show me how to have fun.
After a while, the excitement died down and Blake came up with a genius idea: To test out how fast our dad's Lamborghini can go. I agreed because I've always wanted to drive a Lamborghini but our father never let any of us touch his car.
"Dad's going to kill us if he finds out." I said.
"Then I guess we won't let him find out. What he doesn't know won't kill him" Blake replied.
We went back to the house and went to the garage. Blake went and grabbed the keys and tossed them at me.
"You're driving us to that old, deserted road near the McClain Bridge." Blake says
Near the McClain Bridge, there's a road that no one uses. It's like those roads you see in movies where a couple drive off into the sunset. The road is long and no one bothers to use it. But this road was more ancient looking.
When we got there, Blake told me to drive down the road as fast as possible while he gets out and record me. I agreed because there's no harm that can come my way. I can't hurt anybody because not only is it 3am but this road hasn't been used in centuries.
I let Blake got out of the car at the McClain bridge while I drive about a mile back.
I rev the engine then slam on the gas pedal. It was exhilarating driving at 140MPH. I turn on the radio and tuned out everything in my life. It felt great to be going at such a fast speed and the Lamborghini drove so smoothly that I can fall asleep.
As I start getting closer to the bridge I started feeling a little dizzy. I was starting to lose control of the car. When I got to the bridge I can see that I was aiming the car at Blake, standing on the right side of the bridge. I couldn't even get myself to put my foot on the brake.
I swerve the car to the left frantically and crashed into the bridge. I heard a loud BOOM and blacked out.
Ally's POV
The entire week with Chase had been great. I had totally forgotten how sweet and romantic he was.
Aaron and I haven't been talking much lately. A couple small talks here and there. I can't believe I had fallen so hard for him. I even said "I love you" to him and he didn't even say it back. I guess I was just tricking myself into believing what I felt was love. Maybe it was just my way of getting over Chase.
I'm going to the beach with Chase today and all of my friends. It was the weekend after final exams and we all just wanted to relax.
Chase came and picked me up and we met up with friends. We were all so excited for today because we all had chipped in money to afford jet skis, kayaks, and surfboards for the day.
I noticed that Noelle hasn't showed up yet. It's strange because she's always the one who arrives first. I guess she'll join us later.
I took one of the jet ski for Chase and I. I didn't know how to ride a jet ski so I had him teach me. After 45 minutes of him driving the jet ski, he offered for me to drive it. We docked back safely at shore and swapped places.
Chase sat behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist. He leaned his head on my shoulder and I turned around and kissed him on the forehead.
"Now try and be careful and not kill us." Chase says teasingly.
"Oh shut up, I'm a natural. Just watch." I said confidently.
I turned the handles on the jet ski and zipped out into the ocean. The wind was blowing in my hair. The water was sprinkling on my legs. My boyfriend had his arms around me keeping me safe. It was the perfect day.
I didn't want to leave the jet ski but it was Farrah's turn to use it. I went back to shore reluctantly and got off of it. Noelle still hasn't showed up. Huh that's strange. She didn't call or texted.
I shrugged it off and went to join Audrey, Natalie, and Sasha for volleyball match. Sasha and I won.
The sun was starting to set and we all had the perfect view on the beach. I sat down on the towel next to Chase and rest my head on his shoulder. We watched as the sky slowly turned from pink, to orange, to dark blue.
All I heard was the sound of the ocean crashing gingerly onto the sand. The gentle, relaxation sound. Until I heard someone yelling behind us.
"ALLY!" Noelle screams.
I jolted up and ran towards her.
"Hey Noelle are you okay?" I ask nervously.
"I'm... fine... but..." Noelle says as she's panting for breath.
Everyone came and gathered around her.
"Hey take your time, just breathe." Farrah says calmly.
"It's Aaron." Noelle says.
"What about Aaron?" I ask feeling every muscle and fiber of my body starts to awaken.
Noelle had a worried look in her eyes and I knew something bad had happened.
"He's in the hospital." She claims
My eyes widen and I can feel my heart racing against my chest. "What do you mean? What happened?" I ask frantically.
"He got into an accident yesterday. I've been in the hospital all day with him."
"Why didn't you call me?"
"I didn't want to worry you after the stressful week of finals."
"But this is important you have to tell me when something as big as this happens!" I said, sternly. "Take me to the hospital now. I want to see him"
We packed up our stuff and I followed Noelle to her car, leaving Chase behind.
At this point I just need to see Aaron. Nothing else matters to me.
I apologize so very much for not updating sooner. I've been very busy lately and didn't think people cared about my book. But seeing how many of you enjoyed it, I owe you guys an ending. Thank you so much for being so patient with me. Again, I am truly sorry. Thank you for the support!
