Chapter 18

Ally's POV

I've been hanging out with Aaron for basically the whole weekend. Everything was perfect, except for the thoughts about hanging out with Chase and not telling Aaron that keep popping into my mind.

Everytime I want to tell him, a thought in the back of my mind keeps telling me "It's not the right time."

"ALLY! YOU'RE GOING TO BE LATE TO SCHOOL! GET YOURSELF TOGETHER, LET'S GO." My mom yells, making me snap back to present time.

She doesn't even know that I'm dating Aaron. I'm not really allowed to date but I would do it for Aaron, risking to get in trouble if my mom ever finds out.

My mom knocks on my door and sticks her head in and says "Ally, breakfast is ready. You've been spending a lot of time in your room lately. Is there something I should know?"

"No, everything is fine. I'm just tired lately, so much homework to do." I say. There I go again, lying to the people I love.

"Come down soon." My mom says as she heads downstairs.

About 10 minutes later, a car honks from outside of my house. I look out my window and see Noelle's car parked in my driveway.

I quickly pack my stuff and run downstairs, hug my mom goodbye, and run outside to meet up with Noelle. She's been picking me up every single day now because I prefer to get to school by car instead of a bus and I get to see Aaron at the car area.

"Hey!" I say as I get into the car.

Noelle has a sad look on her face. She looks like she is going to burst into tears and punch someone while she's at it. And she keeps avoiding looking me in the eyes.

My mood drops to match hers.

"What's wrong?" I ask sadly.

"I'll tell you... IF you promise you won't get mad and you won't tell ANYBODY." She says.

I start to get worried..

"I promise... Please tell me." I say, my voice shaky.

She exhales and slowly says

"It's about Aaron..."

She couldn't possibly know that I hung out with Chase without telling Aaron.

"He... Sort of... Did something... Last week..." She says cautiously.

"What did he do?..." I ask.

"He might have... Never mind." She mutters nervously, looking from left to right.

"NO! SPIT IT OUT." I say.

"He hooked up with this girl last week at some party ok?!?" Noelle says, frantically.

My heart stops for a split second, and my jaw drops and my eyes widen.

"What?..." I ask, hoping this is a joke.

"He told me because he didn't know what to do. I'm not supposed to tell you but I had to." Noelle says ashamed of herself.

I feel furious and sad at the same time. I knew he was going to be a jerk one way or another.

"Who did he hook up with?" I ask, bitterly.

"This girl Lauren from the other high school. She's also his ex."

Oh goody, my boyfriend cheated on me with his ex.

"Ally, please don't be mad and don't tell him I told you, please!" Noelle pleads.
