Chapter 13

As I get closer and closer to Aaron's car, my heart pounds more violently than ever. He gets out of his car and opens the door for me like a gentleman.

"Hey beautiful." He says smiling.

"Hey." I say slightly blushing, as I get in the car.

His car is exactly the same how I remembered it. Black Porsche, two seats, and smells like his amazing cologne. His parents must be really rich. His house is like a mansion and he owns a Porsche, wow somebody's spoiled.

"Sooo where are you taking me?" I ask smiling sweetly.

"You'll see."

He changes the subject on me and we keep talking about the most random stuff until he pulls up to a bowling alley.

"Surprise!" He says as he turns off the engine.

"Really? Was it that hard to tell someone that a bowling alley is where you're taking them." I say. I've never known someone who takes a girl to go bowling for their first date. It's usually movies or ice skating or a restaurant.

"I wanted to be a little different and take you to bowling." Aaron says as if he read my mind. "And, I really want you to see my sick bowling skills" he says trying to act cool.

I roll my eyes.

"Then what are we waiting for?" I say smiling, wrapping my arm around his arm, and walk inside.

He pays for everything and we go and pick out a bowling ball. I was going for the 8 pound ball, but then Aaron comes and says,

"Are you kidding me? No you have to use a 14 pound ball."

"WHAT, That's too heavy for me." I say, pouting.

"No it's not. Trust me, now come on."

I was doing pretty badly. Aaron is way ahead of me and I don't like losing.

"See the 14 pound ball is making me lose." I say sadly.

"Blaming it on the ball now? Here let me show you how to bowl like a pro." He says, winking at me.

He comes over and puts his hand on my right hand where I was holding the ball. He puts his other hand on my left. He is so close to me and his smell is drifting into my nose. He was telling me how to 'bowl like a pro' but I was stuck in a trance.

I am melting inside and without knowing, I drop the 14 pound ball right onto his right foot.

"Oww." He says, trying to hold in his pain as he sits down.

I snap right out of my trance. My eyes pop and my jaw drops. Great, I just ruined our date and his foot.

"OMG I'm so sorry!" I say looking at his foot and pulling him into a hug.

"Can you get me ice please." He says through gritted teeth.

"Yeah yeah yeah yeah I will."

I was panicking now. I run to the food place and ask for ice and run back to Aaron, hoping his pain have died down a little. But there might be a huge bruise on his foot. I shudder at the thought.

I rush back to him and toss the ice on his foot.

"OW! Put the ice down gently at least." He says, sounding angry.

"Sorry! I'm panicking!"

"Here let me do it myself."

I feel like a worthless idiot right now. Why can't I have a grip on something for once.

"I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to drop the ball on your foot." I say, sadly.

"It's alright, um let's go get something to eat."

I nod and agree to what he says. I wasn't going to argue with him now because I feel really bad. He's on the football team and how is he supposed to run properly with a huge bruise on his foot, if not worse.

"Can you help me walk out to the car?" Aaron asks, interrupting my thoughts.

"Of course."

He puts his arm around my shoulder and leans on me as we walk out of the bowling alley.

"Can you drive to the restaurant?" Aaron asks.

My eyes widen "I can drive?"

"Of course my right foot is numb right now. I can get us in an accident by driving."

"You would trust me with your Porsche?" I ask, a smile forming. But looking at his foot, back comes a frown.

"Of course." He says giving me a weak smile. His smile makes me feel so much better after hurting his foot. I open the door for him to get in and he hands me the keys.

"We're going to the Cheesecake Factory, it's like 5 miles away so I think we'll make it." Aaron says.

I start the engine and his radio comes on and it plays "Hung Up by Hot Chelle Rae." This is my favorite song so as I drive, I casually sing along. Aaron then joins in and sings along with me. He's not a very good singer. But I don't want him to feel even worse with my criticism. After the song finishes, we arrive at the Cheesecake Factory ALIVE. I help him out and help him walk inside.

Aaron's POV

I must admit my foot hurts so badly right now. But having to see her sad look makes it all worth it. She's a really good singer also. I wish I can hear her longer, but we arrive at our destination and she seems hungry so we head in.

I like having her walk me everywhere so I decide to make it seem like my foot hurts more than it actually does.

"Can you walk a little slower my foot hurt really badly." I say, trying to sound as sad as I can. I really don't want her to disconnect from me.

"Yeah... Sorry about your foot." She says again looking even more sad than I am. I feel happy that she cares so much, but sad that I'm making her feel so bad.

We had dinner and talk about anything that comes up. My foot starts to feel better and turns out tonight is the best night of my life. Once we finish our dessert, she looks tired and wants to go home.

"Am I driving home? Or can you handle it from here?" She asks carefully.

"I can handle it."

I limp over to the car and open the door for her and start the engine. 'Can't hold us by macklemore' comes on and we start jamming out like weirdos.

"Remember at Gage's party you were singing this song on the microphone while dancing with the DJ?" I ask, flashing her a mischievous smile.

Her cheeks turn rosy pink as she says "can we please let that go? It's not my fault you let me drink too much."

"Oh I'm not letting that go." I say trying to surpress a laugh.

I blast my radio the loudest it can go and we sing along to every song that comes on until we pull up to her house.

I get out and open the door for her.

She gets out with the glummest look on her face "Look, I'm so so so so sorry about your foot, I really didn't mean to drop the ball. I was like out in space in my mind and I just lost grip of the ball. I'm a terrible girlfriend and I'm sorry if I ruined your night and..."

Before she can finish, I pull her in for a kiss and whisper to her "it's ok you didn't ruin my night." Kissing a girl can really shut them up quickly.

She smiles a little with relief. I walk her to her door and she gives me a hug and says "I had a great time. Thank you."

"Me too." I say hugging her tightly.

She opens the door, waves and smiles at me before closing it.

I limp back to my car and drive home, feeling surprisingly very happy.
