As we drove to the dance, I couldn't sit still, I don't know why but I was so excited! I mean it did make me feel a little awesome I was sneaking into the dance. Can we give some extra points to really putting on the Cinderella act over here? We blared music in the car, and might I say having our own personal pre-dance, I could tell tonight was going to be amazing! Lexi turned the music down a little, and looked over at me.
"Seriously Clary, I thought you were just going to miss the dance tonight." Lexi said, frowning at first then giving me a smile.
"Well I was, but some turn of events changed my mind. I thought of just bailing, and then explain to keep my drama grade up. Until today, then I decided I wanted to go." I replied a bit dreamily.
I let my thoughts wander to Cameron, how could I not have forgave him? He's so nice and caring, and we all make mistakes. To think I almost held a grudge for longer than needed made me feel kind of stupid honestly. I decided that I was going to say sorry to him tomorrow for my stupid grudge. Lexi snapped her fingers in front of my face, and I jumped a little startled.
"Are you okay girl? You totally just spaced out." Lexi said, sounding a bit concerned for my health.
"Perfectly perfect Lex, spectacular I'd even like to say! Really lets get this party started, it's gonna be a good time!" I replied excitedly, and then blasted the music once more.
________________________________________________________________________Stopped in front of the school my nerves stared to settle in my stomach, it was getting hard to breathe. Cameron was in that building, and he didn't know I was going to be there. Was I going to tell him it was me? Should I ignore him completely? Maybe I'd just see if he could figure me out, I liked that idea.
I took two deep breaths, think of all the reasons I did this, I needed these nerves out of my system. It is a dance after all, and I wouldn't be the only Cinderella there. I was just hoping that my dress wouldn't be way better than everyone's. It was from the drama department, and that's the top notch, not some home made costume.
"The dance is about to start, shall we go in my lady?" Lexi asked with a big grin plastered on her face, it was infectious.
"We shall, and might I add you look stunning as always dear." I said to Lexi the snapped on my mask, and Lexi followed suite.
We jumped out of the car, and my glass slippers made a clicking sound, quite satisfying I might add. I smiled, I was so excited! No one was going to know I was here except the drama teacher and Lexi. The only people who needed to know anyways. I was kinda bummed I wasn't able to show myself, and that I wasn't supposed to be here. Cameron would have brought me, he would have been my prince. I wouldn't have had to hide myself, and never have him know. It is what it is though I supposed, even if disappointing.
We made it to the doors, and I didn't let any hesitation stop me. I grabbed the handle, and walked in with my head held high. No going back, inside and looking proud if I wimped now that'd be pathetic. Lexi followed behind me as I made my way to the sign in, I made sure my glass slippers we clicking extra because I wanted to draw attention.
"Names please." The girl at the table asked politely smiling at Lexi and I, she was dressed as Jasmine, and looked just like her I might add.
I stared at her in awe for a second then Lexi hit me, and I came back to the real world.
"I'm Clary and this is Lexi, make sure to put Disney Drama by our names please." I said a little sheepishly, I was embarrassed for staring at her for so long.
