We drove back, and the whole time Cameron was muttering apologies. I wasn't mad though, it just slipped his mind and that happens to us all! Plus I was going anyways so what was there to be mad about? Well Cameron didn't know this, so I could see why he was feeling a bit bad that he forgot about it. We pulled into his driveway and we both ran upstairs, I don't get why he was so worried about being late though. He's a boy, and boys can get ready fast... right?
"Cameron, just chill we can get you all ready in the time you need! I myself am in expert in fashion, so I've told myself!" I smiled like a dork, and this seemed to lighten Cameron's mood because he smiled and started laughing too.
"Clary, you know how to lighten the mood. Thanks." He smiled, so I smiled back.
"So we need to get you dressed first! I don't get why people do their hair first because when you get dressed it messes it all up! And it's extremely frustrating, so you go get dressed!" I shooed him off with his prince outfit, then waited patiently for him to come back all dressed.
After about five minutes Cameron came back and his costume was completely messed up. His gold shoulder plates were askew, the sleeve cuffs were wrinkled, and his belt was undone. He just gave me a look that said 'please help me, I don't got this.' So I got up fixed the shoulder plates so they looked nice, unwrinkled the sleeve cuffs, and buckled the belt.
"Thanks," Cameron said then blushed a little.
"Of course, I told you I would help you get ready!" I smiled and did a little spin.
I walked over to the bathroom, and grabbed a variety of things: cologne, a hairbrush, gel, and hairspray. I went back to the room and he gave me a questioning look, but I just smiled and set everything down. I took out my phone and pulled up a picture of prince charming, this wouldn't be too hard.
"So I'm going to do your hair, and you're going to sit still, understood?" I told Cameron.
He replied by sticking his tongue out at me, so I made a face back at him in return. We both laughed, then I started to fix his hair. It only took a matter of five minutes, I wish my hair took that little time. Then I started to put some hairspray on his hair, and he started choking on the hairspray.
"You could have gave me a warning!" He said still coughing a lot.
I stiffed back some laughter and replied, "I though you were smart enough to no breath it in when you heard me spraying it!"
Then I lost it was on the ground laughing so hard. He was still coughing but glaring at me, and I was laughing like a maniac. After about a minute Cameron joined in, and we laughed for about 5 minutes. It was the best feeling in the world; just laughing at the stupidity of us. I finished getting Cameron ready, and then we hear the doorbell. I looked at Cameron, and he smiled at me. I smiled back, and then we walked down the stairs.
I stood on the steps as Cameron opened the door, and the look on Lydia's face when she saw me was priceless. At first her face got red and all contorted like she was constipated, but then she took a breath, and looked a little more calm. She was wearing the evil step-mother's gown with a big crown, and she looked pretty evil. Spot on if you ask me.
"What the heck is Clarissa doing here?" Lydia spat, looking at me with disgust and hate.
"She helped me get ready, nothing else really. Always have to assume the worst don't you?" Cameron replied calmly, and I was happy that he wasn't trying to hide me this time around.
I looked and smiled at Lydia, and she gave me the death glare. This made me smile even bigger, and she started to look really mad.
"Well if you say so. It's time to go now though; so come on Cameron quit wasting time. Bye Clary it was nice seeing you, have fun at home not going to the dance." With that she turned, and stomped down the driveway to the car.
"Sorry about her, she has no right to be mean. Thanks for helping, see you soon maybe we can hang after!" Cameron said with a smile on his face.
"Yeah totally! See you soon then." I said and smiled, he had no idea how soon.
Cameron kissed me on the cheek, and then went outside. I sat there flustered, and confused. Did he really just kiss me on the cheek? I walked out in a daze and butterflies in my stomach. I was excited for the dance!
I ran home, and raced up to my room. I had an hour to get ready, and get to the school. I called Lexi, it rang twice then she picked up.
"Yeah, what is it I'm getting ready. This better be important."
"It is Lex, I need you to come here after you get ready and help me! I need help getting ready and sneaking into the dance. Its a masked dance, and I cant fail drama class."
"Okay, I'll be there in ten! You should have just said code red, gosh! Consider me your fairy godmother!" Lexi said with excitement.
"Okay, bye." I said, then hung up.
I had a lot to do: hair, makeup, dress, and jewelry. The hair was going to be the hardest, I knew that for a fact, so I decided doing it last would be the best idea. I started with the makeup, it was simple and elegant. For once I was loving being Cinderella, I kind of suck at makeup. Next I got into my dress, it was the traditional Cinderella dress. It was beautiful, the blue complimented my hair, and made my eyes pop. I put the earnings in, and the necklace I was given.
Just then Lexi burst into the room, "Fairy godmother at your service!"
"Hello to you too, I need help." I replied, and I turned around, and looked at Lexi.
She looked beautiful in her costume, the purple went so well with her skin. She made a perfect Rapunzel, I was a bit jealous!
"I know the hair, it will be hard but I looked at a picture on the way here. I can manage, it will take about ten minutes probably."
And with that Lexi set off to work on my hair. She was teasing it and brushing it, also tugging a lot. I stayed silent though, when it comes to hair Lexi knows what shes doing. After about ten minuets she was done.
"One last thing, I need the blue ribbon." Lexi said, demanding I might add.
I handed it to her, and she pinned it in my hair. I looked in the mirror, and was amazed. I really looked like Cinderella, except the part of being a brunette. I stared at the mirror for about a minute, then looked back at Lydia.
"Thank you, it looks professional! Like seriously Lex you are amazing!" A gave her a big hug, and we both smiled.
"It was nothing! You know I want to be a stylist someday, you look beautiful."
"So do you Lex, you rally do." I smiled, and picked up our two masks. "It's time, you ready?"
"You better believe it! Are you ready?"
"Yeah, I am." I smiled, and handed Lexi her mask.
We put them on, and it was time to do this.
