"Where is she?" Lyon asked Ian. He just came back from his car to get the first Aid kit. He planned to take care of her wounds, but when he had came back, the girl was gone. She left, even though she had promised him to stay where she was.
Well, You just misunderstand it. His wolf said on his mind. She must have been to scared to actually 'read' the situation. Lyon just rolled his eyes.
"She ran away. Probably got too scared of us, Man, I thought I was gonna die there. That hot chick was more dangerous than I thought, " Ian wheezed, crawling to the base of the tree where his mate once sat before. Even Ian agreed with his wolf.
See? His wolf smirked at him. But I don't like what he said afterward.
A growl escaped his throat, agreeing with his wolf. Although he knew that Ian probably hadn't know. The "hot chick", his friend and future beta was referring to was in fact his mate. He couldn't help but feel insulted of what his friend had said.
Nobody could call his mate "hot", let alone a "chick" and could get away with it. He considered her his alone.
"Ian, before I terminated my friendship with you, let me tell you one thing. You should know that..." He was cut short when he saw Ian's widen, his mouth open and then laughed. It was not the normal kind of laugh. It was howls of uncontrolled laughter one could hear when a very hilarious joke was told.
Laughing? At the most inappropriate time? Why?! Did I told him a joke I am not aware of? Lyon thought. He could feel the anger rising from him as his wolf was trying to take over. But his friend seemed to sense this and quickly explained.
"Woah, calm your wolf down! I'm sorry. I already knew that she was your mate." Abruptly Ian stood up and place his hands up in the air in mock surrender.
"I was only testing you how you would react when I called her "hot"." Ian smirked, quoting his hands in the air. It only made his wolf angrier.
"If you already knew that she was my mate. Then why had you said such a thing!" He was practically screaming now.
However when he had expected his friend to cower in fear, he only saw Ian placing his hands on top of his mouth, doing the best as he could to stop howls of laughter escaping his mouth. A minute later, Ian pointed his finger at him and said.
"This is why! I never seen you "idiotically" this mad before. Especially because of a girl we just met! I gotta do it man. It was a one in a million!" Ian, grinning from ear to ear.
Even though Lyon was angry the minute before, no one could ever stand a chance with Ian's idiocity. The rule was just simple, keep it on then he'll lead on. Stop and he should too.
From that moment on, Ian knew that he had lost.
"Oh come on, man! That fast?" Ian said, kicking the leaves in front of them in exasperation.
"So how did you know that she was my mate?" He said, giving to Ian his pair of clothes. With a miserable face, Ian scoffed and took it from his hand.
"It was easy. The moment you arrived, the atmosphere told me so. Plus from the look on your face, it was as if you were going to kiss and mark her even before you even knew of her name!" Ian said as he put on his pants.
