Chapter Three - "I Made A New Friend, Big Deal"

About an hour after we were there, making it 11:30, I needed a break from dancing. I wanted to sit down for even just a second. The DJ was really good and we'd been having a good time so far, but I just needed to chill for a little bit.
"Wanna go to the bathroom?" I yelled over the music to Ashley. She nodded her head, grabbing Brooke's arm and taking her with us. We didn't get far though because someone stopped me.
"Hey, the guys and I are gonna go outside, alright?" Chase came up to me and wrapped his arm around my waist. I rolled my eyes, sighing a bit, but still nodded my head. "It's just a joint. We won't be long."
"Okay," I muttered. He leaned down and pecked my lips twice before disappearing with Justin, Brandon, and Eli, the latter being Brooke's hook-up of the moment.
It was their "thing"; every time we came to Level 3, they would go outside behind the building and smoke a joint or two. It always bothered me a bit and I had no idea why, but I let it go anyway. If I stressed about every little thing, I think I'd be dead.
Ashley's hand grabbed my arm as she whisked Brooke and I away to the bathroom line. We only had to wait about ten minutes until we got in, did our business, and then stood by the long row of sinks together.
"My hair is a mess," Brooke groaned, raking her fingers through her light brown waves.
"Yeah, right," Ashley retorted. "If your hair is a mess, then mine is a disaster zone."
"I just needed to get some air," I sighed, staring at my reflection in the mirror.
The music was pounding through the walls, and I thought I felt a headache coming along. I shut my eyes for a moment and sucked in a deep breath, trying to drown out everything around me.
"I noticed that this kid has been staring at you literally all night," Ashley broke my concentration. I opened my eyes and she turned to me, resting her hand on her hip and the other hand on the sink counter top.
"What? Really?" I knit my eyebrows together, and she nodded. "Is he attractive?"
It was only a question.
"Oh my God, yes," she practically moaned. "I was drooling when I first saw him."
"Too bad I have a boyfriend," I shrugged with a light laugh.
"So? You can't make friends?" She raised a blonde eyebrow.
"True," I chuckled. "But it's not like anything would happen."
"Hm, you never know," she shrugged her shoulders. I rolled my eyes with a smile, then the three of us left the bathroom and went back towards an unoccupied couch.
I plopped down with a sigh, taking my phone out of its clutch and scrolling through Twitter for a bit. I felt Ashley's hand on my shoulder, shaking it and trying to get my attention. I glanced up at her from my phone's screen to see her eyes wide and her mouth hanging open.
"See? Look, he's right there," she subtly pointed in the direction of the guy that was supposedly staring at me all night. "Oh my God, just look at him. Is he even real?"
I look up and my eyes suddenly met with a pair of piercing blue ones and I felt the hair on my arms stand up. A smirk made its way onto his pouty lips and I felt my jaw slack a little. I swallowed to stop from drooling and watched as his fingers swam through his thick, unruly blonde hair.
