Party

Today is the day of the party and I am literally freaking out. I have never been out to parties and I've always avoided drinking because I get really wasted and I start saying stupid shit.

I was brought back to reality by a knock on my door which I assume is mom's "Honey you're going to be late"

"Just give me 5 minutes and I"ll be ready" I said searching for clothes to wear.

I decided on wearing an oversized flannel with ripped black jeans. I checked my bag and made sure I had everything with me. I took my phone off the charger and texted Jai.

To Jai

You gonna pick me up?

I turned off my phone and went downstairs looking for my mom, I ended up finding her in the living room drinking her morning coffe.

"Good moanin ma" I said jokingly.

"Morning sweetheart" She said taking a sip of her coffe.

"Need a lift?" She asked.

"That reminds me." I said taking my phone out of my backpack to see I had a message and it was from Jai.

From Jai

Already out waiting x

I smiled as soon as I read his text and said to my mom "Nah I have one waiting for me outside.
"

I left my house to be greeted by Jai standing in front of his car with one leg on the car and the other one on the ground, folding both hands, He did look pretty hot right there.

Shut up Mandy you have a date tonight!

"Goood morning", I hugged Jai.

"Sup babe" He kissed me on the cheeks.

Cheeks on fire alert!

I blushed cheekily and sat in the passengers seat, Jai got in the car and began to drive to school.

Time passed quickly though my classes today were really boring. I met Matthew at recess and he reminded me of our date. As if I've forgotten. It's all that has been on my mind the whole week.

Finally, school ends and we head back home. I greet my mom and go upstairs. I think she calls me for lunch but I stay there. Though it is still 2:30 p.m. and I have like 5 hours to get ready, I am still freaking out. I have no idea what to say or what to do, or how to even make an impression.

My thoughts and worryings are interrupted by my phone's text tone.

From Jai

I bet my little girl is worrying for nothing, like always. Let's do something, pretty please? x

I smile like an idiot after reading his message. He knows me so well. But what if he messes up again? I'm not giving away free chances here.

Ugh, I'm worrying again.

To Jai

I wasn't even thinking anyways. Come over.

He doesn't answer but I can tell he's already at my front door.

I go downstairs and greet him with a big smile. He comes close and hugs me tight. I see him holding a square box.

"Pizza?" I say, smiling like a child who's just won new colouring pencils.

"Well, I know you girls. Always overthinking something so small that you forget to eat."

"Food is my priority, excuse me." I defend myself.

"Have you eaten?" I don't answer. "That's what I thought, little girl." He smirks.

I get two plates and we sit down at the kitchen table. I love how this boy knows even details about me.

We spend the next hours chatting and watching Disney movies up on my room. My mom leaves to visit some old friend of hers.

It's finally 7 p.m. I have ONE hour to get ready. I take a quick shower and, knowing Jai, I take my underwear with me to the bathroom.

He helps me zip the white dress and tries to make some style with my hair but obviously fails.

"You hair looks better the way it is anyways." He rolls his eyes and I laugh.

He picks some heels for me which I never knew I had.

I look around one more time. I think I'm ready.

"I'll take you there." He offers and I don't argue this time.

We leave to the party and I find Matthew standing outside waiting for me I guess.

"Are you sure you'll be okay?" He asks, sounding a bit worried.

"Jai, it's just a party." I smile. He isn't convinced though, but he doesn't answer.

I should probably get out of the car but-

"What was that for?" He seems surprised.

"Thank you Jai, for everything."  I smiled.

"Oh, please thank me again then. But this time, make it somewhere else." He smirks.

I hit his back jokingly and get out of the car. Kissing him was a bad idea anyways.

I make my way to where Matthew is standing and he greets me with a kiss on my cheek.
