The three soldiers attacked. The first one swung at my feet. I jumped feeling the air underneath me shift from the man's powerful swipe. I gracefully landed and stabbed him in the hand. His sword clattered to the ground as he crumbled to the floor clutching his hand as he groaned in pain. The two others charged together and I grabbed the fallen mans sword. Not my style but it seems like it'll get the job done faster.

The two stopped in their track immediately at the sight they backed up reluctantly eyeing the sword. "Damn, she's got a sword." Growled one tightening his grip on his own weapon. "There's no way she knows how to use it!" The other said confidently. I shot the second solider a smirk. "You really wanna test your luck? It's rude to under estimate you enemy, it's also........ Very dangerous." I said in a false cheerful voice.

The second man charged me scowling at my comment. Men can be so stupid. He aimed for my head, I blocked the attack wincing under his superior strength as your swords made an X over my head. I used my free hand to jab his shoulder. He ignored the slash and applied more pressure to his sword. I jumped back escaping his attack, I panted slightly tired from the strain he had put on my body. But jumping back, that was my mistake. I jumped back straight into the other soldiers hands. The soldier that had been afraid of me grabbed onto me tightly and kept me in place unaffected by my furious thrashes.

The soldier who attacked me chuckled slowly walking toward me allowing the tip of his sword to drag across the ground scratching the wood floors. "Well, who's the one testing their luck now? Little girl!?" He teased, slowly raising his sword above his head. "Now look what you did to ourself! If you had kept your mouth shut and did what we said you might have lived! But after the disrespect you showed Lord Kumji and me you wont live to see tomorrow!" He cackled.

I watched in horror was he lowered his sword and I closed my eyes waiting for the painful sensation of the sword digging into my skin. It never came. Did I die? Was it that fast? I slowly opened my eyes one at a time fearfully and gasped. Standing before me was Jea-Ha his daggers in hand as he blocked the attack toward me. When did he.....? Jea-Ha? Tears corner my eyes and a sob of joy escaped my lips.

"Jea-Ha." I crocked tears now pouring  down my cheeks. He looks over his shoulder to me, a smile on his face. "I'm so happy to see your safe. Yona and Yun successfully set off the firework and told me Kumji took you away." He said. More tears poured down my cheeks at his words. I didn't fail, Yona and Yun are alive! They successfully launched the firework. We won.... "I'm so h-h-happy!" I sobbed cupping my face not realizing that the other soldier still held me in place.

"Who the hell are you?" Demanded the solider that was struggling to overpower Jea-Ha. The Green Dragon heaved a sigh. "It's not beautiful at all to attack a little girl." He informed slowly looking away from me and turning to the man a glare now replacing his smile. Within moments the two men were swiftly attacked by Jea-Ha. My eyes widen as I watched. The way Jea-Ha attacked was a fighting technic all his own.

He jumped into the air throwing his daggers with amazing accuracy. Three daggers had escaped his grasp causing the sound of the shifting air around the daggers to fill the air before they crashed into the men . One dagger hit the soldier who was clutching me. The sharp blade dug into his shoulder. The soldiers blood soaked his robes along with me. The shoulder of my kimono was now soaked in his blood. I scrambled out of his grasp panting heavily as I  watched the wounded soldier collapse.

The other two daggers sunk into the other soldier one landed in the mans stomach and the other had been launched into his heart. His body went limp and he feel. A pool of blood surrounded him as he groaned. There was no hope for him. No one was coming to help him. He would die there. My body trembled violently as I turned to Jea-Ha. "Y-Y-You k-killed h-him...?" I stuttered.

Jea-Ha frowned at my reaction, followed by a sad sigh and slowly walked over to me. The dragon gently placed a hand on my trembling head and looked down at me. His caring green eyes meeting my large, fearful, brown/black ones. He ruffled my hair playfully a gentle smile brightening his face. "Yes, I did. He was going to hurt you, I saw no other choice." He explained calmly.

I glanced at the mans body limp and lifeless as he was surrounded in his own blood. Was he a citizen of Port Awa? Was he married? Did he have a wife or children? Maybe be had both?! How many people would feel the painful loss of his death? What would they say when they learn that he was killed by pirates? How many people have I hurt with this mans death!?

I was overwhelmed with worry as slowly my tears began to stop. I could feel Jea-Ha staring down at me a frown forming on his lips as me saw my furrowed brows and pursed lips. "Just remember this, May. His blood is on my hands not yours. You couldn't have stopped what happened. I wouldn't have had this any other way. A girl like you shouldn't burden herself with an others life." Jea-Ha soothed placing a hand onto my shoulder. I didn't reply and his hand slid off my shoulder. Even when he tugged my dress trying to get me to leave I didn't move. He sighed. "Jea-Ha......" I called my voice only a horse whisper.

"Yes?" I slowly turned away from the lifeless man and turned to the dragon. "Tell me, how am I suppose to protect everyone? I said I wanted to protect the people of Port Awa. I want to protect you, and Yona and everyone else in the group. The pirates, who welcomed me with open arms once I had proved myself. The people of Gija's village, who allowed me to dance with them and take part in their festival the people who had seemed to except me as one of their own. And finally the people I haven't meet yet! The people who don't know me but are suffering! What am I suppose to do?! How can I help? I'm just some weak and helpless little girl! I can't do anything, can I?! I can't be strong, not like you and Hak or Shin-Ha! But, I can't give up either!" I cried.

My small hands balled into fists as I stared into the dragon's wide surprised green eyes. "May......" He called lightly. I slowly pulled out my green causing Jea-Ha to stop what he was saying. I raised end of the dagger's handle to my chest. "But, no matter what! I'm not going to give up! Not on the people of Port Awa, the pirates, or the people of Gija's village, not on the people who are still suffering out there! And especially not on Yona, Yun, Hak, Shin-Ha, Gija, and you Jea-Ha! This time I'll protect my family. I'll stand my ground and some day, I will be strong enough to protect them all!" At each word that left my mouth the smile that was slowly forming on my lips only grew.

Jea-Ha smirked at my speech a chuckled escaping his lips. His reaction caused my face to redden with embarrassment and anger. "Wh-What's so funny?!" I demanded stomping my foot in anger as I lowered my dagger. He walked over to me placing his hand on my head once again. "I just don't understand how you don't see how brave you are. I don't think I could find a braver little girl no matter how hard I tried." He replied still chuckling.

I could practically feel the smoke leaving my ears as my face darkened. It's not that big of a deal, Jea-Ha. Jea-Ha swiftly picked me up bridle style and began to walk toward the door. "Come on! Let's go protect everyone and left do it together." Jea-Ha sighed throwing open the door and walking out into the freezing air. Yea, let's do it.....together.
