"It means war."
Geun-Tae said a large grin curling his lips. "W-War!" I repeated baffled by the simple word. Geun-Tae chuckled. "Aw you stuttered, that was cute." He teased as my face turned red. "Do you have to fight? What if one of you die!" I mumbled worry painting my face as I scanned the faces around me. "Aw, she's already worried about us."
Geun-Tae continued patting my head.
I puffed my checks in disapproval. "It's not really a war. The bell just means we're under attack which usually leads to war." Joon-Gi explained relief washing over me. "Can I help?" I asked hopefully causing all eyes to turn to me. "What?" Soo-Won mumbles worriedly. "Let me fight!" I clarified. This seemed to surprise everyone. "Thats very brave of you May but you haven't even been trained to fight." Soo-Won said.
"That's not true! Dad was a blacks smith. I use to help him in the shop! Together we made half of the army's weapons!" I announced proudly. Hearing this Geun-Tae burst into laughter. "No wonder you looked so familiar! Your the daughter of the blacks smith I always tried to visit. He was always to busy to meet me properly but I did visit your house one day and I heard you singing. You weren't that bad."
My face only turned A deeper red. "I did go to the old mans funeral but...." Geun-Tae mumbled catching my attention. At the moment my knees finally gave in on me. All the bravery I had to fight left. I fell to the floor tears in my eyes. How my emotions could turn on me so quickly was a mystery to me. "There was a funeral..." I cried cupping my face.
I hadn't thought of staying to see if one was held. I was forced to leave his body in the woods. I never though anyone would find him. I had tried my hardest and couldn't. Why didn't anyone tell me? Grief that was I could feel. I was so consumed in it didn't notice Soo-Won pick me up and carry me out of the room leaving the others behind as they left to fight.
I didn't realize what was happening around me until I found myself in a large room gently being placed down on a huge bed by Soo-Won. I guess he thought I needed to be alone because he began to walk away. Only when he reached the door did I fully understand why he was leaving. He planned to fight. "Soo-Oh! Wait!" I cried. A sad look crossed his face as he looked over to me.
I then knew he didn't intend to let me convince him otherwise. I flew the blankets off me and scramble off the bed running to him but I was to late. I only slammed into the door all thoughts of my fathers funeral left. I forced them to the back of my mind. One problem at a time. Soo-Won had managed to slip out a moment before I could reach him. More tears ran down my face as I heard his footsteps. "NO NO NO NO NOOOOOO!" I screamed slamming my hands against the door.
The thought of Soo-Oh fighting scared me. More then I thought possible. "PLEASE DONT!" I wailed fearfully. I didn't want this! It wasn't fair! "YOUR REALLY GOING TO LEAVE ME HERE!" I demanded angrily an sod escaping my lips as I finished. His footsteps only quickened and grew more distant. I yanked at the door handle shocked to find the door locked. "DON'T GO!"
Soo-Won's P.O.V
I hated to leave May like this but in order to protect this kingdom I needed to fight alongside everyone. "DON'T GO!" May screamed her voice ringing through the hall causing me to cringe. I wanted to turn back and let her out. Tell her everything would be ok. "YOUR GOING TO LEAVE ME HERE! YOUR GOING TO KEEP ME LOCKED UP AS I BECOME SICK WITH WORRY FOR YOU!" May continued to scream the sound of her fists pounding on the door echoed.
She's going to hurt herself. As I walked through that halls I called two guards they immediately rushed to my side. "Yes?" They asked curiously. "There's a small child named May in one of the nearby chambers. Make sure she doesn't hurt herself till I return." I explained her screams still filling the halls. "Just follow the noise." I added walking off.
May's P.O.V
"COME BACK! COME BACK! COME BACK! SOO-OH!" I cried my voice horse from all my yelling. My knuckles bleed as I punched the door wildly. My foot throbbed at I repetitively kicked the door. More sobs escaped but this time it was also out of pain. This isn't fair! Damn it! Come back, I won't ask for anything! I'll behave! JUST COME BACK! I wanted more then anything for the fighting to be over. I leaned up against the door panting heavily.
Then it swung open I jumped back in time managing to not be shoved to the floor. Two palace guards walked in. I ran for the door immediately but one of them grabbed me by my waist picking me up. "No! Let me go!" I cried thrashing in his grip clawing at his hands. The other guard closed the door shutting my only exit and walked toward me a stern look on his face. "You know what! Your causing a lot of ruckus! Shut up and wait like the rest of us." He scolded reaching me and grabbing my hands.
He examined my bloody knuckles and grunted. "Soo-Won was right. You did hurt yourself." He growled clear irritation in his voice. "Please! I just want to protect the only person that's important to me!" I begged. The guard let go off my hands and sighed. "Your such a child." He groaned. "WHATS DID YOU JUST SAY!"
"Have some faith in him. If you care about him then you should trust him. That's what we all do." He replied ignoring my last 'comment'. I stopped thrashing suddenly. I'm such an idiot... "Your right..." I confessed a determined look crossing my face. "I won't stop him from fighting!" I began the guards gave a sigh of relief the one holding me put me down. "But I will help him!" I added.
"WHAT!" The guards said in unison. With that I managed to run out of the room. I can do this! I can help!
Soo-Won's P.O.V
I stood with the other soldiers in my armor relief clear on my face as we only face a small army of angry citizens. This isn't war just a protest among the people. Geun-Tae, who stood beside me sighed sadly. "Well it not war." He pouted well Joon-Gi came over to us.
"How's May?" Joon-Gi asked curiously reaching us as he carried a polished sword in hand. "Yea how is our little swords man?" Geun-Tae teased nudging me lightly. "I had to lock her in her room." I state bluntly. This took the both of them by surprise. "Why?" Geun-Tae demanded getting maybe a little to upset over a little girl he just meet.
"She tired to stop me. If I let her do as she pleased she would of followed me out on the battle field." I explained as the distant crowd of poorly armed citizens got closer. "It serves that brat right!" Added a new voice. We all turned to see Soo-Jin in all his furious glory. Clearly still mad at the girl.
"Well she is just a child, Soo-Jin." Said an other voice. All eyes turned to Monduk as he gradually made his way over to the growing crowd. "Even children must learn that they are powerless against us. How dare the little brat act as if I was inferior to her!" Soo-Jin replied bitterly.
"Well, no matter how she acted she won't be going into battle." Joon-Gi said ending the discussion. It went silent for a moment. Now that they had ended the discussion about May no one seemed sure what else to talk about. The moment wasn't very good to start talking about business. "Soo-Won." Called Geun-Tae. I looked toward him curious as to what he wanted.
"What's your plan for May? I mean the responsibility of a child is to much for you. Your plates already full." The Earth Tribe General asked. I only smiled at his question. "Well, May is no ordinary child."
Shizuko-Chan~ Hey everyone! I'm just gunna tell you that the chapters with May and Soo-Won will be continuing on for a while. It's going to kinda be like a short story in the book. I decided to do this because I'm near the end of the anime episodes which is what I base my chapters on. Please tell me if you want something else and also I don't usually do this but I would just like to thank @CrystalArclight for all the supportive comments and dedicated this chapter to him/her I hope you liked it!
