Jared's POV

Death of another eye-witness. And this one particularly knew a lot about her now. Well, at least I now know that she is a woman. Strange of her to use a voice modulator to fool me into thinking she's a man. I wonder why she did that. But one thing is for sure, she must have planted the bomb in the station. A common desperate attempt of every criminal to clear his pursuit. Now I've got to trace her origins. That will help me trace her upcoming destination.

Rosario Vasquez was just recently caught by the FBI and sent to Guantanamo Bay. For Jared it was a boon. Now all the puzzle pieces were coming together. Ray was definitely the key to capture of a larger no. of criminals. And that key had its clue with Rosario.

Now digesting the environment of Guantanamo isn't everyone's cup of tea. A no. of 'camps' meant for the 'reform' of the inmates, is practically a well-known myth. Stories of the torture, successful and failed breakouts still cause everyone's skin to crawl. Through international alliance, Jared was sent to interrogate Rosario. And as expected he wasn't easy to tackle.

A sturdy looking Columbian in his 50s is what best describes Rosario. And someone who was a significant crime lord, things can't be taken too lightly.

According to him, Rowena, as known to him as well, was the daughter of his former henchman, who worked for him. A diligent and intelligent woman, she could drive men crazy with her single glance down their souls. She had accomplished a no. of missions for him. But when she had fooled him and smuggled his cigars, through a different route into the states, he knew she had slipped out of his hands. And he didn't listen of her for years, until now. Sensing he had extracted all what he could of Rosario, Jared decided to leave for London. He needed time to relax and make up his new plans. Also, it had been a long time since he was with Maria.

How easy or tough is it to leave someone's life devastated? For Jared, his worst nightmares were going to be proven true. Sitting in his cab, he had never thought he'll get the news.

X-"Is this Mr. Jared Leto I'm talking to?" J-"Yes, who's this?" X-"Sir I'm calling from St. Thomas' Hospital. Your contact was found with our victim called Maria Reyes." J-"What happened?" X-"She has met with a car accident and..." J-"AND WHAT?" X-"Succumbed to her injuries."

Sometimes even seconds can feel like years, and looking at Maria's burnt face and body, Jared felt his life shattering. The shards of his happiness, now hurting his heart. Her funeral felt like his death.

It had been days, since he heard anything of Ray. Honestly, he didn't want to work upon the case any longer. He felt alone beyond what words can describe. One day...

J-"Hello?" R-"How does it feel to be a single stud again Mr. Leto?" J-"Who's this?" R-"The reason for the unprecedented no. of deaths in your life. Shannon, Dominic and now..." J-"Ray!" R-"Exactly." J-"So that's what the devil really sounds like.'' R-"You know, cause you already know something about me, I don't find it intelligent to keep hiding from you, someone so friable as you." J-"Then wait for your death to come, because I'm going to find you and make you repent every single breath of yours."
