Awakened

Ch. 16 Awakened

"Ash!!!" I can hear Emma scream in my ears. Please stop screaming Emma, I wish my head is pounding a mile a minute and I swear I can feel the blood gushing through my veins, throbbing my head even more what happened.

Where am I? I wonder when all I see is darkness. Is my eyes even opened? Is it night already..

" She isn't waking up what do I do...what do I do?! Where is ice water when you need it." I hear her breathe out a harsh breathe and I can feel her blue eyes staring at me, she sounds so afraid.

My body feels cramped as I try to move my hands, slowly I try to open my eyes. Brightness overtakes my vision and I put my hand over my face, ouch, slowly my vision returns to normal and I can see Emma.

Emma's hand is in the air ready to strike when I scream.

" Emma! What the hell?!?" I ask screaming with surprise, backing away from her only to get as far as the passenger door.

I can feel the door handle against my back as I look at her shocked but relieved expression.

" Oh thank God!!!!" Emma grabs me into a bear hug taking the breath out of my lungs instantly.

" Em..can..can't ...bre..breathe." I gasp out my words slowly trying to save as much oxygen as possible. I definitely do not want to pass out again.

" Oh sorry. My bad. I am just so grateful. What happened?" She looks down and then back up at me with wonder and surprise in her eyes.

" I remember." I answer her, " I remember everything. " I look at her now really seeing her for what she is my best friend and my sister.

" I guess that means you have some questions for me huh?" She smiles at me crookedly.

" Hell yeah." I smile. " But first I need to find someone." I turn to the window looking at the school.

" Are you sure you want to go inside the school today...I mean with everything that just happened...and how it usually ends...are you sure?" Emma looks at me protectively like I always remember her doing when she thought I was going way over my head over something.

So much time lost.

" I am fine. Emma, cross my heart hope to die." I laugh as I cross my heart and hang my head in humor.

" That isn't funny." She pouts, losing my gaze as she looks away.

" Hey. Hey you know I am only kidding. And besides I am back now ...you don't have to worry about losing me again." I say with all seriousness as I make her look at me again.

" What are we going to do?" She asks with a slow sigh.

" What we always do work together." I smile at her and poke her in the ribs until she grabs my hands, stopping me.

" Seriously, Ash what?" She asks staring at me until I look back out the window.

" I am going to find Liam and stop him from hurting my Adien and my family. He has went to far for far to long and now it is time for him to pay for all he has done." I glare focusing on the willow tree in the distance, its leaves swaying slowly when the wind hits them.

" Okay so what are we going to do?" What's the plan sis?" She smiles at me as I turn back to her in shock.

What the hell is she thinking?

" Oh no! no, no, no, no, no, " I shake my head, " I am not losing you again because of Liam."

" Hey that isn't fair. After everything I deserve to kick his ass!" Her eyes begin to squint and her face turns red with anger.
