Ch. 13 Surprise

" Ash I want you to keep your eyes closed okay..no peeking." Adien laughs a little at my facial reactions.

I cross my arms out of impatience. I still don't know what the big deal about this is on me closing my eyes, it is not like I know where we are anyways, or how the heck we even got here in the first place.

We was in the car for awhile, I couldn't even read the road signs because of the way he was driving, even if I could it is not like I could tell where the car was from here.

We have been walking on this trail for awhile...at least I think it is a trail. I keep asking questions but a lot of good that is doing me.

Why do I have to go through all this?

Oh yeah..because it is a " surprise ".

I let out a long exasperated breath I was holding in.

" We are almost there " he laughs " quit being so impatient ...I promise you will love it when we get there..you will see it was worth all the trouble." He laughs when I stick my tongue out at him.

" Really? You're going to stick your tongue out at me now?" He laughs even more this time and I can feel the effect it has on me.

Butterflies start to swarm in my stomach.

I feel myself being lifted up.

Holy crap why am I not on the ground...I try to see if I can touch anything with my foot, but all I get is air.

Ah! Please don't let me fall! I panic.

" Ash, it's okay.. I am just picking you up so you won't fall ..there is a lot of trees and roots in the way." He says trying not to laugh.

My body becomes calm again knowing Adien is just trying to keep me safe, but it still doesn't change the effect his hands have on my heart when he is touching me.

I wonder if he can feel how hard my heart is beating right now?

I try to peek out of my eyes to see his facial reaction.

" I said no peeking Ash.." Adien says serious, but I can tell he is enjoying this.

Where are we going?

I can hear water in the back ground of my thoughts..okay now I am really confused.

Where could he be taking me that has water?

" Okay you can open your eyes now." Adien whispers in my ear.

I open my eyes and they adjust, to see a beautiful green meadow going out miles ahead of me. Purple, yellow, pink, and blue flowers fill the entire area around us. In the distance I can see a willow tree, with its lavender flowers and green leaves flowing down.

It is like this place has never been touched. I can see the water I heard in the back ground is a stream that runs down from the willow, into what looks like a creek.

This place seems so familiar to me. But why? I am to shocked by its beauty and the feel it has on my memory that I forget that I am in Adien's arms still.

" Do you like it?" Adien says hopefully.

" I love it.." I say out of wonder and catch myself staring. back into his eyes.

We stay like that for awhile, just staring into each others eyes. Trying to figure out the other, but of course we can't. It's calm and peaceful around us. I can hear birds singing behind me. I can feel the warmth Adien brings to me surrounding us.
