It was Friday morning, again everybody got up early and went to work and to school. Little Crow was alone at the house. Then around 8:00 am Indian time some of his friends came over.
"Hey guys why are you all not in school?" asked Little Crow.
"We had our parents write a note to our teachers," said White Eagle.
"Well that was lucky," said Little Crow.
"Yeah, so what do you want to do?" asked Ivy.
"We could walk around the rez or go to the youth center and play some basketball," said White Eagle.
"Hey that sounds like fun, let's go" said Little Crow.
So they took off running. They arrived at the youth center and started playing basketball. Once they finished, they went to the store and bought a soda and they walked home.
So the weekend arrived and everybody was doing their own things, Big Man was out of the hospital recovering and his parents decided to pull him out and enroll him in a new school. Little Crow's three-day suspension was over, so Tuesday morning he was able to go to school, he grabbed an apple and started to eat it on the way to school. When they got there, he threw the core of the apple down on the ground and a few of the rez dogs started to eat it.
"Hey Little Crow welcome back," said White Eagle.
"Pilamaya" (Thank you)," said Little Crow.
The bus arrived and all the kids walked to the back of the bus. Then more kids came on.
"Well, it's the nerds sitting with the cool kids, who said you can sit back here?" asked Matthew.
"I did, he is my brother, so I suggest you sit down in another place so the bus can pick up more kids," said Kicking Bird.
"Ooh, I'm so scared, I'm shaking in my boots," Matthew said smiling and laughing.
"He said sit down," said Little Crow.
"Look who's talking half-breed, you might look like a Native, but inside you're as much as a white man as I am, that is why they call you apple," smiled Matthew.
"You are very lucky I don't have anything in my hands," said Little Crow in anger.
"All right boys," said the Native bus driver.
Matthew just chuckled and smiled, he turned around in his seat. Little Crow grabbed some glue and waited for the bus to stop at the school. They let all the kids off, Little Crow went up to Matthew and poured the glue all over Matthew, Little Crow and his friends ran off the bus and went to class. Matthew was still sitting on the bus; he was angry and furious.
"I'll go in and tell the principal," said the bus driver.
"No need, his time is coming," said Matthew getting off the bus. He walked into the school and went to the men's locker room to take a shower and change clothes.
In Little Crow's classroom, everybody was laughing. The teacher came in and told Little Crow to go see the principal. Little Crow got up and walked to the principal's office and sat down.
"You are not suspended, this is a warning," said Principal Greg Tail Feather.
"He had it coming," said Little Crow.
"Don't do it again, now go to class," said Greg Tail Feather.
So Little Crow went back to class and they started to do vocabulary until the bell rang. When the bell rang everybody got up and went to the cafeteria. As Little Crow and his friends were heading towards the door Kicking Bird came walking up to Little Crow.
"What?" asked Little Crow.
"You know what, Matthew is really mad, you almost got suspended again," said Kicking Bird.
"He should be mad," said Little Crow.
"Not cool brother, you need to grow up," said Kicking Bird leaving to the cafeteria.
"Whatever," said Little Crow walking away.
They went through the lunch line getting their food. As Little Crow was walking towards his table he saw Matthew put his foot out trying to trip him.
"Nice try," said Little Crow.
Little Crows friends started laughing, they sat down and started eating. Matthew was still incredibly angry, so he put some food on his spoon and flicked it, but Little Crow moved, and it ended up hitting Ivy. Ivy is White Eagle's girlfriend.
"Again nice try, but you owe my friend an apology," Little Crow turning around and went to Matthew's table.
"I meant to hit you, but you moved," said Matthew.
"Stand up," said Little Crow.
"Why?" asked Matthew.
Little Crow grabbed Matthew by the collar of his shirt and stood him up in front of everybody.
"Now you are going to apologize to my friend," said Little Crow.
"Get your hands off me, I'm not apologizing to no one," said Matthew trying to getaway.
White Eagle comes walking up.
"You are going to apologize to my woman," said White Eagle.
"No I am not," said Matthew.
White Eagle grabbed Matthew by the arm and pulled it behind him and lifted his arm up until he said he was sorry.
"Ouch, okay, I'm sorry," said Matthew in pain.
"Thank you," said Ivy.
"Let him go!" shouted Kicking Bird from across the room.
"Let him go," said Little Crow.
So White Eagle let him go.
"Brother this stops now, lets go," said Kicking Bird.
So they left the school.
