Part XXVII

Winning her back

Taping day has arrived and all were excited on the show except for the two who could not refute their feelings for each other because the love was still there. After the show Alex first came out and spoke to her driver that he will take her home tonight but he should wait for his call if in case she would change her mind if she doesn't want to & remind her driver not to let her know whatever discussion they had right now then go straight to his car waiting for Elizabeth to come out and there she goes looking for her driver. He drove all the way to her direction slid the window of his car;

"Wanna ride? Hop in now.

"Thanks but I'm waiting for-

"I saw him and he's in a hurry to leave but I think he went to change tire. Come on now get inside.

"Are you sure about it?

"Of course! You don't believe me do you?

"I don't know but I can't call him right now his phone is out of coverage area so I sent messages instead for him to read it. Okay I don't have a choice right now but to ride with you.

"Thanks! Ready?

"I think so.

He drive out of the studio headed for home and talk about the things that happened to them and suddenly asked her about something else.

"Didn't you miss things like this whenever I take you home?

"I don't wanna talk about it just take me home now that's all I need.

"That's what I do now. We'll get to that. Aren't you hungry? Maybe we can dropby to a nearby drive thru station now.

"What is this all about? You're acting strange now. Why brought up something you don't want to deal with?

"What are you so afraid of?

"That depends on you.

"I came here to talk to you to make things right and maybe we can start all over again.

"Is that all? It's easy for you to say that because you never feel what I felt when you already decided everything. You're so selfish Alex?

"That's why I'm here and that's all that matter now.

"I don't know if we can make things right this time. It seemed that you forget everything and now you're coming back as if nothing happened? It comes naturally so easy all this to you? Do you know what I am feeling right now? I'm not sure we can fix things the way you want it. You already had the chance but you let it slip away & now you yearn for what you have lost, yet you forget what you had back then.

"I'm ashamed of myself because I know I should be better and I have no idea how to get there. So if you can't stay, walk away slowly. Rip the plaster off bit by bit, piece by piece because I'd rather feel that than nothing at all.

"The way you see yourself, and the way I see you, are two different things. The only reason I hate you now is because I loved you then. Fine, maybe I'm the puzzle. But you're still the pieces. And what still shocks me, is how often the thing that hurts you, looks like the thing that helps you. I made myself from all the love you no longer wanted,"she said.

"We spoke endlessly about everything & nothing, but now I can't even remember the sound of your voice. Of course, I love you; it is my fault that you have not known it all the while. You make me nostalgic for a love that hasn't even happened yet,"he replied.

"How many hearts would be involved for the wrong reasons, if each time you said"I love you", you mean it?"

"I'm full of love, and nobody wants it. I need you to understand, I don't need saving not from anyone. What I need is to be my own redemption.

"Sometimes not telling people anything is a good thing. But there are consequences we need to face to get through it just by dealing alone are burdens we carry along the way.

"I don't owe people anything, and I don't have to talk to them anymore than I feel I need to. And it hurts so much to want something you can't have. I thought I married someone who knows exactly how I take my tea, coffee, and alcohol, and knows when to make which.

"My only goal in life right now is to be happy. Genuinely, consistently happy with someone who is willing to be with me forever but you destroyed it, and never think of it as a gift rather took it as your own interest.

"I guess I should say thank you, for cutting all my strings. But if it's all the same to you, I wish you'd left my wings.

"That's what careless words do. They make people love you a little less.

He called her driver to fetch and bring her home. Elizabeth did not know whom he called up. While waiting for the driver she was wondering why they stopped and waited for whom and then she asked him.

"Why do we stop? Is there something wrong with your car?

"I'll wait for your driver to come to take you home now.

"What? All the while I thought he left to change tires of my car yet he's somewhere else. What nonsense is this? You have to fool me around just to talk to me? You can come to my house anytime and you knew where it is. Don't do this again." In a little while the driver arrives then she came out of the car for a ride in her own car and leave immediately. She was so upset. Really pissed off.

Alex also went home and forgot what happened earlier maybe the timing might be wrong. Elizabeth did not confront her driver after they arrived home but went straight into her room and entered the bathroom then change clothes before going to bed and forgot her discussion with Alex earlier and be able to sleep.

Some of us think holding on makes us strong; but sometimes it is letting go. Most of us, if not all, go through the trauma of losing someone we love, and that, perhaps, explains why there is no dearth of sad love in this world. When you come across these it obviously becomes difficult to hold back your feelings which often come out in the form of anger or helplessness, and culminate into tears. The saddest thing in the world is you love someone who used to love you. It's amazing how someone can break your heart and you can still love them with all the little pieces. The day of her nativity has arrived but most visitors come and go but the one she's waiting for didn't show up. It's a sad day for her because he never thought of visiting her not even try to greet her but with a simple message would do.

But it does not end there, after the show he went directly to her house for him to make peace and to amend everything they lost & set aside because he believes they still love each other & for them to settle everything once and for all. Little did she know he wanted to surprise her by coming over to her house but he saw alot of people there going in and out of the house yet he thinks of going home instead for she can't accommodate him well at the same time impossible for them to talk in private because of her visitors. As soon as he plans of leaving her house he saw someone getting out of the car handed her a gift then suddenly kiss her on the lip without thinking that someone might get hurt yet they were happy as if no one's around and the two were headed into the house. Soon he realize everything at that very moment and decided to end their relationship for the better is to let her go for someone who can makes her happy and that's the right guy for sure. Pull over and leave immediately. At home he spent most of his time playing basketball & took time to write a goodbye letter telling her everything about what he feels and why they should end this way though it's a tough decision for him to make but t's the only way they can move forward and have closure to their relationship at once. After their taping that night, he came out first to look for her driver then handed him the gift with envelope for him to give it to her personally and suddenly leave the place so that she will never catch him there if he stays a bit longer. But Elizabeth was so ecstatic to see him right after the show maybe they can talk now but he's nowhere to found, she searched the whole studio even outside the building but couldn't find him while her driver was waiting for her to get inside the car and gave her the gift as promised.

"Who gave this?

"Just read it Mam.

"Where is he?

"He just left.

She was amazed by the gift but wondering what's about the letter. She's trembling and a little bit nervous upon opening the envelope and started reading it while the car runs on the road leading to her home now.
