The next days were filled with agonizing tourcure, I was blood stained and cold, a mess of what I once was. My matted hair covered my eyes from seeing the pain I was feeling, salt had been rubbed into my wounds and old scars had been torn open.
I almost cried when I heard the door open. I didn't want it to be him again. I didn't want it to be the dwarf.
"Hey Stream." I hear a calming voice say. I look up to see who it was.
"Hanji!" I say relieved that it wasn't my tourcherer. "You have to help me! The dwarf doesn't belive me when I say I don't know where my clan is!" I give my best pleading look.
"Oh I think you know where your clan is perfectly fine." She replies. "I'm here about something else." I was confussed.
"Something else? What?" I ask.
"I understand that the other day Levi cut off one of your fingers in a rage, yes he went overboard, but it grew back right?" She said. I nodded and she squealed. I didn't trust that stare she had. "Which one?!" She asks excitedly.
I weakly lift my ring finger and she examines it. "What's so weird about it?" I ask.
"What do you mean what's weird? It grew back!" She says.
I knew that it was weird, but for me it wasn't. "Wait, didn't River tell you?" I ask. She shakes her head.
"Tell me what?" She asks. I hesitate, maybe there was a reason, maybe they wouldn't except me as the clan did.
"I can turn into a titan." I reply. Her eyes widen and she let's a high pitched shriek out, I think I've scared her but she's smiling.
The dwarf, as River calls him, bursts in.
"What happened?!" He screams over her joyful peeping.
"She's a shifter!" She says loud enough for me to wish I could cover my ears.
"Is it true?" He asks looking at me.
I nod. "Y-Yeah...is that bad?" I ask, fearful at what my captors might do next.
~River~
We finally reach our clan, perched in their tall trees silently. I whistle a melody to show that it's us and see my mother's head pop up.
"River?" She says disbelieving. I smile and she sees me, all around heads are popping up from the trees hidden branches. Mumbles are heard.
"Is that Suns kids group?"
"They made it back?"
"I told you they weren't dead!"
I feel my cheeks heating up with all the attention when the clan leader jumps down before me, her silvery gray hair tied up in a loose bun.
"Where were you?" She asks. "And what are you wearing?" She examines my uniform and 3DMG.
"A town." I report. "A walled city with people! They have these devices that help them fight, 3D maneuver gear." I try to sound serious so she knows I'm not joking.
"A town? You're kidding." She looks closer at the handel pondering how all the controls worked.
"I'll show you." I say, hooking to a tree and lifting into the air. The rest of the group does the same. I see all of the clan members, wide eyed.
"Incrediable..." The clan leader says amazed. I take out the blades and use a move I learned that they often used when in battle to cut a chunk out of a tree before landing, that dulled them but I don't care. I release the blades to the ground and put new ones on.
