I decided under the dwarfs advice to just go along with it, we'd send Stream first to warn the clan then bring him to them.
I couldn't focus on the real aim for the wall dwellers mission because I was to worried about my clan. If they died it would be because of me. I've never thought I was a good leader, Foal was always better. But now, I needed to trust myself and my group.
"River." The dwarf addresses, pulling me from my thoughts. "I've sent Stream ahead and then we will meet with the guy from clan of the Pacific." I nod in understanding and watch Stream disappear in the trees.
"Good luck..." I mumble.
Fae, Foal, The dwarf, and I continue forward and evenchully meet up with the man that has Night.
"Take me to the clan." He says.
"Tell us where night is first." I demand.
"Inside, bottom floor, where you found the jap." I wrinkle my nose at him. He did NOT just refer to Stream as a 'jap' what was this WWII?!
"Now take me to the atlantic." He says. He looks around. "Wait, where's the Japanese girl?"
"We left her with some other wall dwellers so it didn't seem like we all disappeared."
"Smart girly."
Smarter than you think, old man.
"The clan is this way."
I lead him through trees to the camp I last remember the clan being at. That's when I hear the scream. Stream. I turn and zip off towards her.
"Get back here!" The man calls but I ignore him. I'm not letting anyone in my group die because of my plan. Especially not Stream.
I see her, terrified on the ground facing a monster I never thought I'd see again. The monster that ate my dad.
It's not getting Stream too!
"Stream!" I call. She doesn't move. "Stream you have to fight!" No use. I will have to save her.
I run to her side and push her out of the way just as it reaches for her.
"River don't!" But I'm mad. Now I will fight. I hit it's hand out of my way with my wall dweller sword. This will be my first kill with their weapons. Let's hope they work.
I walk towards it in rage, hitting away anything it attacks me with. In leans over me for a bite but I stab my wall dweller sword into it and use strength to keep it back.
"River don't use that!" Stream screams. I don't care what my clan says. Today I use that I was given. Today this monster dies.
I can tell that the dwarf and the rest of my group have caught up, I can smell them. And now he calls to me.
"River let me handel it." He rushes to my side but I push him back. The thing is distracted by him falling. I take my chance to jump, releasing the weapon and causing it to fall with the force it pushed against me.
I'm on its neck now, I could kill it. But no. It doesn't deserve the embrace of death. I feel my eyes start to glow with the red I keep hidden, my nails grow into sharp claws and blacken.
"We need to leave!" Foal says, dragging the dwarf away. The rest of the clan follows.
"River...?" The dwarf says in shock. But I ignore him. I don't care about anyone or anything at this moment. At this moment there's only one thing on my mind.
Kill.
I drag my sword along its back as I make my way to the shoulder, it tries to stand but I stomp my foot with enough force to send it down.
