There is no monster, only you.

"Did you fix the shower pressure or something?" Josh asked, taking one of the sandwiches.

Chris had a mouthful of his sandwich already when Josh asked the question. His cheeks were expanded slightly, which made Josh laugh.

"Your silence and chipmunk cheeks says it all."

Chris smiled proudly, but in a goofy type of way. Josh just rolled his eyes playfully and took a bite out of the sandwich. Chris finally swallowed the big bite he had taken and let out a sigh in relief.

"Ow." Chris whined, rubbing his throat.

Josh tried not to laugh as he glanced at the blonde. "You okay there?"

With a slight whimper, Chris nodded. Josh took another bite of the sandwich and paused. The taste of the meat made him feel a bit dizzy. Before he could react, Josh had scarfed down the entire sandwich, making a mess as he did with a growl that escaped his lips. Chris put his own sandwich back on the plate and set it off to the side as he placed a hand on Josh's shoulder.

"Dude..?"

Josh looked at his blonde friend, his eyes weren't his own anymore. His eyes were the eyes of a Wendigo. Chris could see Josh's teeth sharpen withing a second.

"Josh! Snap out of it!" Chris shook him a bit.

The creature that started taking over Josh's body pinned Chris against the wall, growling menacingly. Chris frowned and kicked the raven haired male off of him. As Josh stumbled back, Chris tackled him down to the ground and sat on his stomach to make sure he stayed down. Josh screached and tried pushing the blonde off of him but no luck, Chris grabbed the cold wrists and pinned them down.

"Josh! Stop before you hurt yourself! I lost Ash, I don't need to lose you!" A tear rolled down his cheek as he stared down at Josh.

Josh's eyes slowly began to turn back into a blue color, his teeth began to dull down. Josh groaned and shook his head, looking up at Chris. "What...are you doing?"

"You mean...you don't remember? " Chris asked, getting off the pinned male, helping him up to his feet.

"I was eating my sandwich then suddenly I was being sat on." Josh rubbed the back of his head.

"Ah..sorry. you were just freaking out a bit, that's all. "

"so, I'm still one of those things?" Josh frowned a bit and began backing away but Chris grabbed his hand.

"No you're not. You're still you. You just don't need to let it control you. That's all."

Josh looked at Chris with tears in his eyes. "But what if I hurt you?"

Chris sighed and pulled Josh into a hug. "I'll still be here for you. "

"Why..are you so forgiving of me? "

"Because I know you have your reasons of the things you do." Chris explained.

Josh gripped Chris' shirt tightly and rested his forehead on the blonde's chest. He could feel the warmth of Chris' fingers easing through his raven hair which made him smile.

"Chris...I need to tell you something...I've been meaning to tell you this for a while."

Chris arched an eyebrow. "Yeah?"
