Josh nodded. "So...when is the bus supposed to be here?"
"I couldn't get ahold of the bus garage so, a cab is coming in a couple of hours."
"What do you want to do until then?"
Chris shrugged and glanced at the cashier who was staring at them. "Do you mind if we hang out here until our ride arrives?"
"Not at all, hon." She smirked.
Josh could see Chris tense up when the female spoke. "Relax, man. Everything will be alright. " Josh attempted to comfort him.
Chris smiled slightly and looked at Josh. "I know, I just.." stopped, trying to find the right words.
"Thinking about Ash?" Josh assumed.
Chris nodded.
"You shouldn't have came for me." Josh started. "You really liked her, you shouldn't let me-"
"Don't say thay, Josh. " Chris cut Josh off. Chris glanced at the cashier who was obviously listening in so he grabbed Josh's wrist, leading him outside.
Josh followed believing he did something wrong. Chris stopped when they weren't around the front windows of the station. Chris let go of Josh's wrist and looked him in the eyes. "Josh. Listen to me, relationships come and go. Friendships are meant to stay. To be honest, I'd choose you over any girlfriend."
A light blush formed on Josh's cheeks and he couldn't help but smile. "You're sounding a bit gay, there."
"And?" Chris smirked. "Sometimes the truth sounds a bit....gay. There's nothing wrong with that."
Josh sighed in relief and chuckled. "Oh, well, since we're on the odd subject of that. I have to tell you something."
"You're gay?" Chris asked, kinda assuming.
Josh shrugged. "Kinda sorta. I'm pansexual." He said as he played with the sleeves of the coat his is wearing.
"To be honest with you, I don't know what that means." Chris chuckled.
Josh rubbed the back of his neck and groaned, used to having to explain. "It means I'm attracted to personality. I don't care what you look like or the gender or anything. As long as you have a wonderful personality, you're good with me."
"Oh! Cool! " Chris smiled.
Josh was slightly surprised of that reaction, looking at his friend. "You really think so?"
Nodding, Chris chuckled. "Yeah, of course. Considering I'm bi and all."
"Wait, what?" Josh seemed surprised.
"Yeah, I thought you knew. Everyone else did, even Ash. She actually thought you and I were dating at one point."
"I wouldn't mind it if that happened." Josh mumbled to himself.
"Hm?" Chris didn't catch what Josh had said.
"Er, nothing. Lets go back inside where it's warm." Josh suggested.
Chris agreed and allowed Josh to lead him back inside. A shiver eased down Josh's spine once the warm air hit him. Chris glanced at Josh and chuckled, amused at his friend. He heard the cashier say something but he couldn't get his eyes off Josh. His blue eyes gazed over every scratch, wrinkle...every detail of his friend's face. Josh glanced at Chris and arched an eyebrow.
"Dude?" Josh tried snapping Chris out of it.
Chris blinked a couple of times before looking around. "Huh?"
"The cab station called and said there is a car that was near by. It'll be here in five min-" she was cut off by a horn heard from outside. "Oorrr less."
Josh and Chris turned and saw a yellow cab car outside. Chris sighed in relief and began walking outside. "Thanks, ma'am!"
Josh followed Chris outside and to the cab. Josh reached out to grab the door handle but Chris ended up opening the door first.
"Age before beauty." Chris joked, motioning Josh to get in first.
Josh snickered. "Then what are you waiting for? Get in."
Chris rolled his eyes and chuckled, watching Josh get into the back of the cab. Chris followed and closed the door. The driver glanced into the rear view mirror and gasped. "Y-youre Joshua Washington! The kid everyone was looking for!"
Josh's eyes widened at the sudden comment. "I..uh." Josh stammered, his hands began to tremble a bit, his skin on his hands beginning to turn a light grey color.
Chris noticed and quickly grabbed one of Josh's hands to try to comfort him. "Yeah yeah, can you please just take us to our destination? It's not exactly the best of time." Chris said in a bit of a harsh tone.
The cab driver nodded and Chris told him the address. The cab drove off and Chris looked at Josh, concerned. "Josh, it's okay. Trust me. I'll protect you from the past." Chris spoke quietly but was loud enough for Josh to hear.
Josh looked over at his friend, gripping his hand a bit tightly. He was beginning to be lost in the thoughts of his past until he gazed into what seemed like a beautiful blue sea. That's when he realised, he was looking into Chris' gorgeous eyes. He suddenly became calm.
"I...I'm fine now. Just...cold." Josh mumbled.
Chris slowly let go of his friend's hand and eased his coat off, putting it around his cold friend. Josh clung tightly to his friend's coat, inhaling the sweet scent that was left on the warm fabric.
An hour of silence and tired yawns passed, Josh noticed Chris shivering slightly. Josh scooted closer to his friend and opened out the coat, placing half of it around Chris. Chris looked over at Josh and smiled softly, pulling part of the coat over his shoulder. Josh yawned and rested his head on Chris' other shoulder, closing his eyes.
"Mind waking me up when we get there, cochise?"
Chris' cheeks turned a light pink color. "I...I don't mind. Sleep easy, bro."
Josh smiled as he nuzzled his face to the blonde's shoulder, almost instantly falling asleep.
