Until Dawn-I Won't Leave You Behind /Josh x Chris

Or So He Thought.

As the flame danced around their bodies, Josh's body began to burn and melt as if he were a candle, his body began to tingle yet he felt no pain. He stared down upon the corpse that was wilting away in his arms. Something was...off, other than Chris's head. Though there was a flame, the area around the two became darker and darker by the second. Soon enough Josh couldn't see or feel.

A bright light cracked through the darkness, blinding Josh. His eyes crept open just to find himself staring at a white ceiling. His body was engulfed with warmth and resting on a soft, pillow like object. Turning his stiff head to the side, he saw a sea of blanket. He was...in his room? In confusion, he sat up quickly and looked around.

"Was it all... just a dream? A...a Nightmare? The deaths... the..the trip.... Chris. Oh god." Josh placed a hand on his forehead. "I never told him that- " He paused and looked over at his phone to check the time. It was nearing 11 a.m, two weeks before the big trip. The big trip which gave Josh nightmares. Ye had to remember, no one died, no one got hurt, Chris and Ashley didn't....get together yet and Josh never told him his feelings.

Snatching the phone, he called everyone except for Chris, cancelling the trip. Well, the location. He told everyone he'd are if his cousin would let them stay at the beach house for the trip. Now, time for Chris.

Dialing the number, he placed the trembling phone to his ear.

"Hello?" Answered the familiar voice.

"H-hey, it's me. Uhm, there have been a slight change of plans. Can I come over so I can explain?"

"Huh? Oh, sure! Yeah, is everything alright?" Asked Chris.

"Yeah, I just... I'll tell ya when I get there. Thanks Cochise."

They both hung up and Josh readied to go to his friend's house. He got dressed, and drove to the apartment Chris lives in.

Upon arriving, he had taken a deep breath and was about to knock on the door when it had opened. A smile crept on Josh's lips.

"Now, you're just stalking me, aren't ya?"

Chris laughed and stepped to the side to allow the other in. "I heard your car, genius. "

Josh entered the apartment and immediately walked to the sofa, plopping down on one side. Chris had done the same. "So, what's up?"

Josh began to get nervous but he decided to tell the easiest part first. "I'm cancelling the trip, sorta. I looked around and there are some hazardous things up there that could like...ya know... kill us. "

Chris frowned which broke Josh's heart. "Aw man, I was really looking forward to it. Just me, you, Ash and all the gang. Back together to just fuck shit up!"

"Well, I'll have to call my cousin but the trip will be moved to the beach house. It's a little more public but at night, no one is there. Plus, you won't freeze your balls off." Josh chuckled.

Chris nodded in agreement. "Ah, true. It'll still be fun. I bet I could make a better sand castle than you." Teased the blonde with a wink.

Josh's cheeks turned a light pink as a nervous chuckle passed his lips. He swallowed hard and looked away from the male. Chris had gotten concerned.

"Josh? Is everything alright?" He placed a gentle hand on the raven haired male's back. A shiver slithered down Josh's spine.

"I...I have to tell you something. Please don't hate me for it." Josh spoke.

Chris tilted his head. "I promise I won't. After all the shit we've been through, I'm sure as hell not letting you go."

The smile appeared again on Josh's lips but it soon disappeared. "Chris....I ....I.." He stopped talking, he couldn't say it.

Chris looked at the male with kind, blue eyes. "Josh?"

Josh looked over to meet the blue eyes with his own. They stayed in silence, gazing at one another, Josh's cheeks turning a darker red the longer they did. The raven turned to look away but was stopped. A soft, warm hand cupped his cheek and forced him to look at the blond.

"C-chris I-" Josh's eyes widened when he had realised how close the two were. They were gradually getting closer. Chris didn't dare take his eyes off of Josh's as their noses grazed each other's.

"Say it..." Chris demanded.

"I...." Josh stammered, nervously looking between the blond's lips and eyes. "I.. have been in love with you f-for a long long time." He squeaks out.

After the sudden confession, it wasn't long before he felt a warm pair of lips on his own. Melting into the kiss, he gently gripped the sofa, not knowing what to do with his hands. Soft, sweet movements of the lips lasted for at least a minute and the blonde soon pulled away. Both out of breath, he gently pressed his forehead against Josh's.

"I was kinda hoping. " Chris smiled.

"But...A-Ashley-"

"You were always my first choice but I didn't know how you felt. I tried to shake the feelings off but never could. "

A pause happened between both of them and Chris spoke up again. "Josh."

"Y-yeah?"

Chris smiled. "Will you be my boyfriend?"

With no hesitation, Josh quickly answered "Yes! Of course! I've been waiting for years for that question."

Chris chuckled and kissed the male once more but with more passion. That night, they stayed in the apartment in each other's arms, watching movies and listening to music. Josh couldn't be any happier.
