We were on the front porch. Ryan opened the door and glanced at us. He shook his head and talked to Mark.
"Mark! Daniel I think he's dead. Come in hurry!" Ryan yelled. We all went inside and looked around. Ryan guided him to a bedroom. Mark came back out with full on sorrow, fear, and shock in his eyes. His body trembled. His face pale. His knees wobbling.
"Mark? You okay?" I asked.
"I-i-i" he stuttered. He seemed as though he was gonna faint. He sat onto the couch. He didn't say anything. He ran his hand through his hair.
"Did you call the police?" Evelyn asked getting to more serious matters.
"Yeah. Their on their way." Ryan replied.
"So what happened?" She asked. Ryan's eyes teared up and he sat next to Mark on the couch.
"He committed suicide." Ryan replied. He hid his face in his hands.
"How can you tell?" She asked. He said nothing else and continued crying. We looked at each other and went into the bedroom they went into earlier. There lay Daneil. He was on the floor with a noose hanging from the ceiling in his hand. There was a guitar in the room. The window allowed sunlight to enter.
"This is nuts." I said. I heard sirens.
"The cops. Oh fuck! What if they recognize us." Midnight panicked. I sudden realised it too.
"We gotta go." I said. We ran out. The police were at the door.
"Mark" she whispered. He looked up at her. His eyes were red and puffy. "We're gonna leave. It's to risky being close to the police." She explained. He nodded and we all went out the backdoor. We jumped over the fence. Then we all spread our wings.
We got home and Midnight's phone went off. She turned it on and looked.
"What is it?" I asked.
"A text from Mark. He's said that Daniel is still alive and they took him to the hospital. He's in critical condition. He must have been hanging for five minutes before Ryan found him. To much time was spent without oxygen to the brain. He's in serious condition." She explained.
"What demons could he possibly have been fighting?" I asked.
"Not even Ryan knows, and they were like brothers." She replied.
"Mad. Do you think that his soul is strong enough to be reborn?" I asked him.
"Honestly I wouldn't count on it. He killed himself." Mad sighed.
"What do you mean reborn?" She asked.
"On we never told you." I said, "well, when you die if your soul is strong enough you'll be reborn as a demon or angel."
"How strong. Like what do you mean?" She asked.
"Like me. I died full of anger and hate for Mark. That powered my soul and made the urge for me to live stronger. But since Daniel didn't want to live his soul wouldn't be as strong. I don't think he'll be reborn either." I admitted.
"So if he dies he won't be seen ever again?" She sighed.
"Sadly yeah." Mad answered for me.The sun had set and we decided to let Mad, Septic, and Pewdied sleep over. We were talking and joking around. Angela went to the hospital to join Mark.
Midnight's phone went off again. "Mark's staying at the hospital. He said Daniel isn't getting any better." She said.
"Maybe we should go find something to do to get our minds off this." Septic said.
"Like what?" I asked.
"Let's go for a night fly. I know a place we could go to." I said. They nodded. We went out the door and flew to my old hide out. It was a beautiful place that I knew Midnight would love, because it would be romantic.
We flew into the mouth of the forest it was in. Trees surrounded the main path. It stopped the sunlight from ever hitting the path. I held her hand and we walked down the path. The roof of trees dropped leaves onto our heads. They all followed behind. We finally reached the river. A bridge connected the land across the water.
"Wow! It's beautiful." Her eyes filled with amazement. I smiled.
"Yeah. This is wear Mark and I use to hang out when we were kids. I forgot about it." I sighed happily. I breath in the moist and fresh forest air. A dragonfly flew around the still river water. The trees made small rays of sunlight shine through the leaves.
"This is pretty cool." Pewdied said and picked a leaf off a tree.
"Damn! This place looks amazing." Septic said as he came out of the tunnel of trees.
I opened my wings and flew up. I carried her in my arms. She screamed a bit and laughed.
"Hey! Put me down!" She playfully yelled.
"Okay." I smirked. I dropped her. She panicked and opened her wings.
"Well played. "She smiled. I flew under the bridge and stroked my hand against the water.
I landed onto the bridge. She landed next to me. "This is where I learned to use my wings. This is also where I drowned."
"Is that the vine?" She asked. She pointed to a single vine hanging from a tree. The tip of it was ripped. The sudden flashback of me swinging across and the sound of it snapping played in my mind.
"Yeah" I said quietly. "They never found my body. Not even I could find myself."
"Is that what that weird smell is?" She asked.
"Huh? Weird smell." I asked. She sniffed the air.
"You don't smell it?" She asked. She walked down the bridge and walked down the riverside. I followed. She kept sniffing the air and stopped at bush. She sniffed it. "This is it. This is where it's coming from. Come on help me dig."
We began digging. The dirt seemed fertile. Then we saw something white. Almost like bone. Our hands were muddy and dirty, but we continued. We finally uncovered the whole thing like thirty minutes later. Maggots crawled all over the pile of bones.
"Is that me?"Is that Dark's body? How could he not find it? How could she smell it, but not him? Find out next week! Ooo, cliffhanger!
