Jenna scowled. Of course Kayto had to make a fuss; he always did.
"But, miss, I'm not Albert Einstein!" He laughed in a tone of total stupidity. Jenna attempted to ignore the boy sitting across the way from her and get on with her work.
"Well, then Kayto, you'll just have to learn how to be Albert Einstein," The teacher spun on her heels and turned her back on Kayto. The tall greyish-blonde haired boy made a face before looking back down at his work. Jenna turned away, red hair falling over her face a little.
"Miss, I don't get it!" Kayto said again, trying to be annoying. It was working for Jenna.
"Kayto Sparkes if you are not quiet in the next ten seconds I'll send you out of this lesson and you'll have to finish the work at lunch time," The teacher replied, angrily.
"Fine..." Kayto fell silent. Jenna sighed, relieved. She continued down the list of questions on the maths sheet, filling in the answers. Kayto stayed quiet for a while. He stared at the work before beginning again.
"Miss..." He looked up from the paper again. Jenna sighed. It would never end.

"I can't believe you didn't get send out," Jenna scowled in annoyance.
"I don't see why you care so much," Kayto walked beside her, down the school corridor towards the door. "Seriously, what's got you so rilled up?"
"Nothing, alright?" Jenna didn't snapped but there was a touch of hurt in her voice. Kayto rolled his eyes.
They walked together. Or, Jenna walked three metres behind Kayto so no one would see them together. They walked up the hill, and towards a field. The field was on one side of the railway tracks, the houses were on the other side. To get to the field Jenna and Kayto ducked beneath a broken metal fence, hidden by the the train station shelter. Once past the sharp metal fence, Jenna and Kayto made their way through a small row of hedge and then down through the field. The field was entirely surrounded by trees. The trees furthest from the direction of the metal fence lead to a deep forest. Jenna had chosen that forest because you had to go behind a railway shelter, under a fence, through a hedge and then travel down a field to reach it. It was well hidden and she liked it the way.
Kayto transformed into a wolf as soon as he past the first trees. He was gone, bounding down towards their camp beside the stream. By the time Jenna got there, Kayto was lapping at the water. Jenna shifted into her wolf form too, kneeling beside him to drink.
Kayto was only a little bigger then Jenna. As wolves, both had longish fur. Kayto's fur was a greyish blonde colour, which resembled his human hair colour. Jenna's fur however was a crimson colour, like her hair, but her underbelly and paws were much paler. Kayto's eyes were grey, steel-like and strong. Jenna looked back at the water, to which she saw her own eyes in. They were a mix of pale greens and brown. Most humans called this hazel. She finished her drink and went to nestled in the den she'd dug under a nearby bush. Kayto crossed the shallow stream, splashing as he went. Jenna closed her eyes and tried to rest.
She felt a twinge of pain. It wasn't physical, she knew that. It was more mental or emotional. An image of a wolf, with black fur and a single streak of blondish gold, settled in her mind. This wolf's eyes were odd; one was amber and the other was purple. Jenna opened her eyes and turned away for a moment. She could hardly remember what he looked like. Her own Rowan and she was forgetting what he looked like.
An entire year. She let it sink in. One whole year without Rowan beside her. She hurt in a weird way. She winced and attempted to forget what she had been thinking about.
