One Day

Chapter Four

The guard returned with a tall armoured man behind him. This man had armoured shoulders and shins. He wore a large chest piece. All of the amour was white with gold lining it. He wore a thick red cape that flowed out behind him, held around his neck by a golden chain. Jenna recognised this as the Captain of the Royal Guards' amour. He pulled his helmet of off his head to reveal his face. He had thick black hair with a streak of striking golden blonde. His eyes were odd; one was amber and the other was purple. He had a scar running down on the left side of his neck.
"Jenna?" He murmured, softly. Jenna felt my throat get caught in her neck. She nodded. He dropped the helmet so that she could wrap her arms around his neck and rest her head on his shoulder. Kayto went to walk through the gate.
"No one said you could go inside," one of the guards stopped him
"Hey, do you want me to hug him too?" Kayto growled and pushed past him. Jenna laughed and followed him. Rowan turned to the two guards.
"Close those gates, sir," he called and began to walk beside Jenna.
He lead her and Kayto into the palace and towards the throne room. He pushed the large doors open and swung them apart. Following him, Jenna awed at the beautifully decorated palace, it's walls shimmering with their golden decorations and it's marble floors shining.
Up ahead of them sat King Thorn Jayce. He was strong, covered with battle scars. His hair was turning silvery grey; though Jenna knew it had been blonde at one point. His eyes were like amber gemstones. He had long sharpened nails. Wearing his golden crown which was incrusted with shimmering gems, he looked rather proud.
"Jenna Clawdette Silver..." He murmured, a slight warmness to his voice. Jenna smiled and bowed down to the king. "Daughter of Captain Amos Silver and the fair maidan, Clawdette Silver,"
Kayto kneeled down in front of the throne and dipped his head slowly.
"And, Kayto Dante Sparkes, her loyal companion," King Thorn finished. Jenna held back a giggle as she saw Kayto's face after the last comment.
Jenna talked with King Thorn for while before being pulled aside to the room next door by Rowan.
"I can't believe you're back..." Rowan paused to stroke Jenna's long thick red hair. "I thought you we're going to stay in the human world,"
"Not forever..." Jenna whispered
"No, but until the war is over," Rowan replied, softly, leaning forward a little so that his nose was brushing against her's.
"I won't have known when it would have ended," Jenna blushed a little "Anyway, I missed you," she smiled. Rowan smirked a little a leaned in a little more. Jenna titled her head a bit and blinked her eyes shut.
"Am I interrupting anything?" A voice came from the doorway. Jenna looked up to see a slim girl with silky long blonde hair. She had blue eyes and pale skin. She stood, hands on her hips, hair flowing behind her.
"Skylar!" Jenna smiled and went to hug her friend. The Princess smiled and gave her brother a look.
"Take care of Jenna; She didn't come back here just to get hurt..."
"What do you mean?" Jenna asked
"The war's gotten worse since you left..." Rowan turned away a little. A guard appeared down the hallway.
"Captain Jayce, we need you to help guard the left side of the palace," He called down the hall. Rowan nodded and looked at Jenna.
"I'll be back this evening. You can stay here for the night," he rushed down towards the other guard and put his helmet back on.
"Hey, you wanna go to the Barking Alpha with Kayto and I?" Jenna asked
"Yeah, sure, I'll go get changed and meet you outside the tavern," Skylar nodded and left the room.
"See you, Sky!" Jenna smiled and went to find Kayto. She found him in the great hall waiting for her.
"I saw Rowan pull you into the other room," Kayto chuckled and Jenna gave him a shove.
"Come on, let's go to the Barking Alpha," she smiled.
