"Taeyeon..." Seohyun called as she stood up to put the plates on the sink. She then turned to face me. "In three days, the three of us, Tiffany, you and me, should be in New York."
"Why?" What's in New York?
"Some party we need to attend." She said and smiled. "You're gonna represent your dad's company, right?"
Oh, it's about a party. "Yeah, I guess. I didn't know about that."
"Your dad must've been extremely busy." She said that like it's a normal thing, but to me, it's not so normal anymore.
"Yeah, I guess." I said and smiled at her.
Are we back to normal? Now that Hani and Chanyeol were caught, will my dad care less for me again? Like how it used to be? I placed the empty plates in the sink, and I walked towards the fridge to grab something to drink. For now, the only choices I have are fresh milk, soda, tequila and beer. I guess fresh milk is the best choice.
Since Seohyun went back to her office to work, I figured I should go shopping alone. Besides, we are going to attend a party. I can't be under dressed! I wore my basic white tee and jeans. I also decided to go for flat ankle boots since I like shopping in comfort. I grabbed my black mini bag and just tied my hair in a bun. I grabbed my car keys and opened the door. I made sure I locked my unit since I don't want just anyone going in and out of my unit.
I went to my car and drove to the nearest boutique Tiffany and I love. I opened the door casually and saw Jessica. I know her as Edison's sister, and Tiffany used to talk about her, like how they used to be so close. I smiled at her, and surprisingly, she smiled back. Amazing.
"Have we met before?" She asked me, and I smiled wider.
"I'm Tiffany's best friend." I said, and she nodded.
"You're Taeyeon, right?"
"Yeah. Jessica?"
"Yes." She said and smiled at me. "Well, feel free to look around."
"Sure." I said and I did.
I picked out a dazzling silver dress, a sparkly yellow skirt paired with a sparkly yellow mid riff top, a velvety, red dress and an off-shoulder, silky, black and white dress, which is kinda vintage looking, but I still love it. I tried all the dresses I chose, but I can't decide between the silver or the black and white. I'm still going to buy all of those, but I have to decide soon. I think I'll just choose when I arrive in New York.
I gave my card to the lady at the counter. I have cash, but I don't like spending it here. I'd rather have my dad pay for my dresses, especially for the parties I have to attend in his place. Besides, dad never complained about it anyway. As for shoes, I know Tiffany's already on it. I'll just have to ask for her opinion about the dresses, then she can decide on the shoes for me.
I was about to get out of the boutique, but I felt my phone vibrate. I took it out and saw a message from Tiffany, saying she'll be in New York tonight. I asked her why, but she never gave me a response. I feel like I have been missing out on her, no, not just her, but Seohyun, as well. I feel like I have only been thinking about myself these past few days, that I forgot I had best friends, and my dad cared for me. I was so selfish!
Out of frustration, I made her tell me all about her flight plans, so I could book the same flight as hers. So she'll be there via private jet. I guess I can just go with her. I need to pack all of the clothes I'll be needing though. I guess I won't be in the unit for a while. I'd better send someone to clean up the unit. I went home directly and went to my room to pack.
I ate dinner alone, again, and looked at everyone who were trying to attend to me with so much awkwardness. I don't know what's going on, but I know something's not right. I've been dying to ask just anyone, but I stopped myself. Maybe they're just not used to seeing me again after leaving. I'll just stop thinking about it. I don't even give a damn anymore.
I asked one of the drivers to drive me to the airport since I'll be going with Tiffany. I told them to place my stuff on the trunk. I am only bringing my blue shoulder bag. The whole drive was really quiet, so I just played a game on my phone. I got bored a few minutes later, so I decided to just stop playing. I looked at the road, and saw a very familiar figure go inside a pastry shop.
"Park near the pastry shop. I just need to buy something." I instructed.
When the car was parked, I took my bag with me and went inside the pastry shop. I went to the counter directly, hoping to buy myself some time to look around and look for Baekhyun. I could hear a lady cry. Normally, I won't care, but the shop is so solemn, that I had to turn around, only to see Baekhyun hugging her, trying to comfort her. I scoffed. This is why he stopped whatever we had? What a fucker!
"One whole brownies, chocolate chip cookies, and an iced coffee." I said, while the guy at the counter was surprised by my orders. "And please make it quick. I need to catch a flight." I handed him my card, and he just took it.
I waited for 5 minutes for my order, and while waiting, I could literally hear them talking about whatever. I wanna throw something at them, just to make me feel better. I can't believe I'm really bitter about this!
"Iced coffee for Taeyeon!" A guy yelled out, and I wanted to punch him.
I just stood up and didn't even look around. I can't look like I just followed them here! I took what I bought, including my iced coffee. I walked out of the store, but I heard him call my name. I smiled, still unsure whether I should look back or not. In the end, I did.
"Yes?" I asked.
"Uh..." He scratched the back of his head, so I grinned.
"Look. You're wasting my time." I said and he stared at me with so much confusion. "I'm in a hurry." I said and turned around. I walked away from him.
"I'm still in love with you." He said, not a yell, but enough for me to hear.
"I'm sorry." I said and turned around to face him. "I don't."
