Jade's PoV

"Mom, Mom, Mom..." I say shaking her violently. She wakes up gasping. "Oh." She cries and sits up. "Are you okay? You were screaming in your sleep." I ask genuinely concerned. "Jade, it was terrible." She says hugging me and sobbing. "Do you wanna talk about it?" I ask sitting where Dad usually is in bed, but he needed to go to Publix to get some food and he took Willow with him. "Sure." She sighs. "I was driving and this huge truck was coming towards me and I didn't have time to swerve and all of a sudden my vision went black and I couldn't breathe.." She says breaking down. "I couldn't stop thinking about you guys, my family. I love you so much, Jade." She says with her head in her hands. " I love you too." I say holding her hand. "Thank you, this really helped."

I try to muster up enough courage to tell her something. I need to tell her about this, it has to stop and the only way she will is if I tell her because she thinks it's okay. "Mom... Can I talk to you about something?" I say fiddling with my hands. "Anything, you know that." she says looking at me. I take a deep breath. "I met this girl at school, Ari, and she is overweight and she hates herself for it. She said celebrities are a big reason for her self hatred. She hears famous people talking about how they're so fat and are pigs, when they are only like 139 pounds and it makes her think that if they are considered fat then she is the size of a wale. I understand what she's saying." I say looking down again away from her gaze. I hear her sigh. " So, you want me to watch the stuff I say... I had no idea people felt like that. I feel awful now..." She says. "Don't feel bad, I just wish you wouldn't say it. She wants to be an actress, and you know your movie, Passengers?" I say and she nods. "Well, she wanted to audition, but she is too young, but also too big. I think it's outrageous that you have to be a dress size 0-10 to audition." I hear her gasp. "I didn't know. I'm not part of the casting, but I do think that's crazy."

After we talk for a little bit more she asks me if I wanna go somewhere special. "Yeah! Where?" I ask. "It's a surprise. Dress light." She smiles. I go to my room to get dressed and I hear her in the shower. I put on some white jeggings, a white tank top, and a really thin blue cardigan, along with some white and gold sandals, well a sandal because of my boot. I put my hair in a messy bun and put on some light pink lip gloss and some smokey shadow on and I grab my phone. Then, I go downstairs to watch some reruns of season five of Dance Moms. About twenty minutes in mom walks down the stairs wearing a t-shirt and some leggings and sperry's. "You look nice, babe." She laughs. "You too." I laugh. "Let's ride, Clyde."

We drive for a while before arriving somewhere in the middle of nowhere. It's a small lake surrounded by trees. It's a very peaceful spot. "How did you discover this spot?" I say sitting down. "Well, " she says sitting beside me extending her legs and leaning on her elbows. "This is where Josh and I would go sometimes after filming. He discovered it. It's like a safe haven now." She smiles. "Oh." I say taking in the gorgeous view.

"Jade. How would you feel if we moved to Atlanta for a while?" I say. "I just started school?" I say my heart dropping a little bit. "Well, I have to film and I hate being away from you." She says looking into the distance. "I wouldn't mind it, but I don't know." I say. "Well, I talked to the school and they have an online program, until you get back. Would you like that?" She says the hope evident in her voice. "Yeah, I guess." I respond. "How long until the temporary move?" I say. "About two weeks." she answers. "Got it." I say. Then together we look at the beautiful lake while a soft breeze flows through the trees in complete silence, but nothing weird or unsettling, it's a very nice mother-daughter moment.
