Jade's PoV

I wake up with a little hop in my step. I mean who wouldn't? I'm a member of Teen Vogue! I take a shower wash my hair and then I put on a cute outfit consisting of some jeans, a white jacket, a black fancy shirt, and some gold jewelry. Mom and I are going to a charity event today.

"Jade, are you ready?" She says. "Almost." I say while slipping on my shoes and glasses. Mom's new hair do looks a lot like mine and we already look alike so we basically look like twins. My hair is just a little longer.

Walking down the stairs, I meet Mom, who is putting Willow in her room. I wait on the couch and text my friends from school. My online school has started and it's hard, but we make it work. I always have my laptop with me.

Mom comes downstairs and we head to the charity event. Once we are there I practically go blind. The cameras are flashing every second and I just keep my head down and walk into the building. I have never seen so much paparazzi in my life.

We walk inside and eventually we get started. People start to call, but we aren't getting as much money as we hoped, so Mom decided to start offering things. This event has a livestream (of course) so everyone can see.

"If we can manage to get up to $15,000 I will do the 'Hula Hoop'." Mom says. In no time we were there and she was dancing and it was probably the funniest thing I have ever seen. People call more often after that.

Then, it happens, one caller asks me to do something. "I will donate 10 grand if Jade tells us the story of how she got reunited with Jen." Mom shoots a look that says don't do it, but I nod back yes. It's time.

"Well," I speak into the mic, " I was being abused by my 'adopted father', but I always thought he was my father, so I decided to run away. I was really young even though it wasn't too long ago. I had finally made it to California when someone was trying to kidnap me. A woman pulled up to stop him, that woman was my mother, Jen. " I start to tear up and a lump is in my throat, but I continue. "That was the best thing to ever happen to me. I was reunited with a woman who was my birth mother. I have no idea exactly how it happened, it was a twist of fate, but I cannot explain how happy and how grateful I am that it happened." I say wiping away tears. From what I can tell there are a few people crying. I look over and mom is having a breakdown and she's in tears.

She gets up and hugs me and I hug her back and she holds on for dear life. "I can't believe I let that happen to you. I love you so much Jade." she says. "I love you too, Mama." and we hold each other while in a puddle of tears. Eventually, that led to the end. We raised over 50 grand. It was worth it for the Charity I'm sponsoring, "To write love on her arms."
