Don't Forget Me

{Skylar's POV}

"I'm hungry."

I looked over at Peyton who was laying on her back on my bed and grabbing her stomach. "We should go get some food." she said looking at me. I continued scrolling through my phone.

"Yeah we should go to Safeway." I said. "Okay let's go." She said, standing up. I stood up and put on my white converse, realizing it was 10:30 and I still hadn't changed into my pajamas. Oh well.

We got into Peyton's car and she drove. We listened to music extremely loud and probably scared some people. When we got to Safeway, I jumped out of the car with my purse, suddenly very excited for food. I wanted ice cream really bad.

We walked into the store and ran straight to the ice cream aisle. "What kind?" I asked staring at the beautiful joy in front of my eyes. "I love ice cream there's so many options!!" I said excitedly. "Hmm, probably Cookie Dough." Peyton said. "Okay perfect!" we got a big tub and went to the cash register. We also grabbed some Hot Cheetos on the way there.

I also grabbed an issue of Seventeen magazine, and placed it next to the ice cream and Hot Cheetos. "You girls having a party or something?" the lady at the register said. We were such loners. "Something like that." Peyton said looking at me. We payed, grabbed our bags, and went back outside.

"Wanna walk around town?" Peyton asked. "Sure." I said. It was really nice out, cooler than the usual hot California weather. It was dark, of course, but the city lights were shining bright. There was Christmas lights on the trees, even though it is only July.

{Hayes POV}

We got off on the Oceanside exit. Ryan and I were singing super loud. I made a vine of us screaming. "Hayes were here!" Ryan said. I chuckled, and it later turned into a laugh. "What?" Ryan asked me, looking confused. I was still laughing. I looked at the ground, "Its just so crazy that were actually here. I still can't believe you made me do this. Where are we even supposed to go?" I said. We were parked right next to Safeway. There was a little downtown section right next to us.

"Let's go walk around or something. Be an adventurer, Hayes. You only have one chance with this girl, might as well take it." Ryan lectured me, sounding like he was in some kind of commercial. "That was deep." I said nodding my head.

"I know right, now let's go!"

The more I thought about this crazy idea of his, the weirder it got. I doubt I'll ever see her, especially at 10:45 pm. "Ryan, there's like no one outside right now." I said to him as he walked around looking like a little kid in a candy store.

"No, Hayes, we're not the only ones. Look there's two other people walking around." He said pointing to these two girls across the street. "They don't look crazy, now do they." he said looking at me as if to prove a point. He's sounded like my mom.

I looked over a little harder. Wait a second-no way. There's no way that could be Skylar. Ryan looked at me in shock.

"Wait isn't that the girl you showed me?!"
