Don't Forget Me

{chapter 10: one sweet love.}

{Skylar's POV}

It has been 2 weeks since Hayes asked me out, and honestly I couldn't be happier. We've been on 5 dates and a few double dates with Peyton and Ryan that were very... interesting. Let's just say, we're crazy.

Nathan still has been trying to get back to me in any way possible, and it's getting really annoying, but I think he's finally getting the hint. School is starting back up again in a week, and I have no idea how that will affect Hayes' and I's relationship, but we'll play it by ear.

"Skylar? Ashlynn?" I heard Peyton's voice from the dressing room at Forever 21. "Yeah?" I said walking towards her. "Does this look weird on me?" She asked, opening her door. She was wearing a striped tee shirt dress that was absolutely adorable.

"No!! It's perfect! You need to buy it!" I pleaded. Another one of our friends, Ashlynn, was with us too. "You look perfect! You'll certainly give Ryan a run for his money!" Ashlynn said, winking.

"Okay, I'll buy it." She said, happily. We were school shopping with Hayes, Ryan, and a couple of our friends: Ashlynn and Jonathan. The boys were currently at Vans because, and I quote, "Forever 21 is too girly." After we were finished shopping at our stores, we were gonna meet back up at the food court.

"Peyton Jane! Hurry up, they probably thought we got kidnapped or something!" I yelled to her. She was taking forever in that dressing room, we were supposed to meet the guys at 2:30 and it was 2:38. "Okay, mom." She said, walking out of the dressing room.

We went to the cash register, and all paid for our stuff. I bought a whole new outfit for the first day of school, and was extremely excited about it. We walked out to see the boys waiting at Panda Express. My eyes crossed with my Hayes, and I still get butterflies looking at him.

"There's my beautiful girl!" He said, pulling me in for a hug. I kissed his cheek and greeted him. "Shall we eat?" Peyton asked, interlacing her hand with Ryan's. "Sure!" Ashlynn said. I felt bad, she was kind of awkward cause we were both couples and we were all just waiting for her and Hayes and Ryan's friend Jonathan to get together already.

"What do you want?" Hayes asked me. "Hmm... I don't know, what do you want?" I asked. "Noodles!!" He yelled. I couldn't help but laugh. "Okay we'll get noodles." I said, smiling. I ordered my food and so did Hayes. "Lunch is on me." He said. "Oh that's okay I can pay for it." I said, pulling my wallet out of my purse. "No, I got it. Plus I owe you." He said, pushing my hand down. "Why do you owe me?" I asked.

"Because, you're just too amazing for me to compete with, so I might as well try." He said, smiling and hugging me. "Awh, I love you." I said. "I love you more." He said. This was such a beautiful moment with Hayes.

"And I love you most." A voice said out of nowhere. Hayes and I looked in the direction of the cashier. "Carter?!" Hayes said. "Hey bud." Carter said. Hayes went around the counter and hugged this Carter kid. Once Hayes came back, I asked quietly, "Who's Carter?"

"He's one of my friends from this convention I used to do called Magcon." He explained. "Oh, cool." I said, smiling. "That'll be 8.50, Hassss." Carter said. We stepped closer to the cash register, and Hayes started paying him. "So this is the lady I've heard so much about. You're Skylar, right?" He asked me. "That's me." I said. "How do you know who she is?" Hayes asked. "Oh I hung out with Nash yesterday and he told me about you guys."

"Of course he did." Hayes said. "Well it was nice catching up Cartah." He said, shaking his hand. "You too, Benjamin." Carter said. "Be safe. Make good decisions." He said as we walked away, and I just giggled. We sat down at a table and waited for everyone else. I saw Ashlynn running towards the table and she looked super excited about something.

"Is Carter Freaking Reynolds working at Panda Express?!?" She yelled at Hayes and I. "I mean I guess." I said. "How are you not freaking out?!" She said to me again. Hayes was just laughing beside me. "Um I don't know I just talked to him." I said. "YOU TALKED TO CARTER REYNOLDS?!" She yelled. "Yes, go buy yourself some noodles and you can too." I said, and she ran to Panda Express.

"I always forget how famous you guys are." I said, shaking my head. "It's a blessing and a curse." Hayes said. Just then, Peyton and Ryan came back to the table. "Guys look over there." Ryan said, pointing to Panda Express. Ashlynn and Jonathan were laughing and talking to each other. "Ooh!" Hayes said. "Get some!" I yelled at them. I received glares from both of them, and I just smiled cheesily.

"What should we do tonight?" Hayes asked me. It was the night before our first day of junior year, which we would be attending at the same school. Hayes transferred so he could be closer to me. (<3) "Hmm, I'm not sure." I said. We were currently sitting on my couch and watching The Spectacular Now, one of my favorite movies of all time.

"I should ask Ryan and Pey what they're doing." Hayes suggested. "Sure." I said, grabbing a handful of popcorn. He texted them, and out his phone down. "Popcorn me!" Hayes said, opening his mouth super wide. I grabbed a piece and chucked it at his mouth, or at least tried to. I missed and it hit his nose. I started giggling and tried again.

"I got this!" I said, sitting up and aiming for his mouth. I threw the popcorn and it went perfectly into his mouth. "That was perfect!" He said, laughing. "You're perfect." I said, hugging him. "No, you're perfect." He said, tickling me. I laughed super loud. "St-opp!!" I slipped out in between giggles.

"You're laugh is so cute." He said, still tickling me. By now, we had rolled off the couch and onto the floor. "You're face is so cute." I said, when he stopped tickling me. He was hovering above me, and kissed my lips softly. I pulled away, saying, "You taste like popcorn!" We both started laughing. "You like it." He said, chasing me as I tried to escape. "Haha no I don't!" I said, as he tickled me again.

"I'll only let you go, if you kiss me." He said, as he stopped tickling me. "Hmm, no." I said simply, trying to escape him again. "Fine then." He said, tickling me. I could not control my giggles. "Okayy! I'll kiss you!!" I said in between giggles. He flipped me over and we kissed passionately.

After I pulled away, I said "We should probably get up." He nodded and stood up. "They're going swimming, wanna go?" He asked. "Of course! Are they going to Roaring Springs?" I asked. "Yeah, they're leaving at 4 so we can just meet up at Ryan's house then and go altogether." He said. "Sounds good!" I said. It was 12:30 now. I had some time to kill.
