{Skylar's POV}

"Hello?"

I heard Peyton's voice through the phone. "AHHH!!!" I screamed. "What?! Oh my god, are you okay?! I'll call 911!" She told me, in horror. "No, I'm fine! Come over right now!!" I said. Ever since the movie last night, I couldn't get the smile off my face.

It was the morning after, around 11. I would've told Peyton about the whole girlfriend situation last night, but I got home around 12 because Hayes and I went out for ice cream, (and maybe kissed a couple times) and as soon as I came home and my head hit my pillow, I was out cold.

"Okay see you in a few!" She said and the line went dead. I scrolled through Instagram and found a picture Hayes had posted of me. It was of me putting the cup of gas in his car. The caption said, 'She's crazy but I love her. (yes that is gas in a McDonald's cup)' I laughed at the caption.

My phone buzzed. It was a message from Nathan. It said, "I miss you :(" Eww, what the heck? I didn't reply.

Just then, I heard a door open and Peyton's voice yelling, "I'M HOME!!" I laughed. "Peyton I'm upstairs!!" I said. I was the only one home because my dad and brothers were gone and my mom and Avery went to my grandmas while I was sleeping.

She marched into my room with ice cream and the movie The Duff. "Peyton, you're my savior!" I said, as she sat on my bed. "I know, I know, I'm amazing." she said, handing me a Ben and Jerry's. "Okay, tell me everything." she said. I began explaining the whole movie thing.

-flash back to last night-

After the movie, we walked back to Walmart, where Hayes' car was parked. As we got in, he tried to start the car. It wouldn't turn on. "Oh my gosh I completely forgot that we are out of gas." He said, throwing his head on the steering wheel in frustration.

"Hayes, there's a gas station right there." I said, pointing to a gas station down the street.
"Got any ideas?" Hayes said. There was a McDonalds cup on the floor of his car. "I think so." I said, smirking.

I picked up the McDonalds cup, and got out of the car. "Where are you going?" Hayes said, confused. He got out of the car, as I kept walking. "To the gas station." I said, as I kept walking. "You're not going to fill the cup with gas, are you?" He asked me.

I didn't reply, I just kept walking. He sped up and walked next to me. "You're crazy." He said, grabbing my free hand. "Crazy wonderful." I said. "Yeah, that too." He said. I simply smiled at his sweetness.

We reached the gas station, and I went to fill up the cup. I filled it all the way to the top and put on the lid. "How much did that cost?" Hayes asked. "3 cents." I said, laughing. We started walking back to the car, with the disgusting smell of gas on our hands.

Once we got back to Hayes' car, he opened the gas cap, when he paused. "Are we really doing this?" He said, laughing. "You have any better ideas?" I asked. "Proceed." He said, motioning towards the gas tank.

I began to pour the gas into the tank, slowly. "Skylar, I don't want you to burn your hands." He said, while reaching over and grabbing the cup. He began to pour it. I started laughing. "What?" He asked me. "You look so concentrated." I said in between giggles.

"What the heck is wrong with us?" He asked and started laughing. "We are literally pouring a cup of gas into my car." He said. Once he finished pouring it, we climbed into the car. "Okay, I'll start the car, and you start praying." He said.

He tried to start the car. The first time, it didn't work, and then it worked. "Yessss!! Victory!!" I said, and he high-fived me. "We make a great team." He said. We got to the gas station and he filled it up all the way. Afterwards, we showed each other our favorite songs and he drove me home.

"I had a great time tonight." I said once we reached my house. "Me too," he continued, "I think I could get used to this date thing." He said, while kissing my lips softly. "Want me to walk you to your door?" He said. "Sure." I said, with a smile.

He quickly ran out the door and to mine before I could open it, and opened it for me. "My lady." He said. I couldn't help but laugh at his sweetness. We walked to the door, laughing to ourselves, hands intertwined.

"Goodbye, Hayes." I said. "Goodbye, Skylar." He said. He pulled me close to him and kissed my lips passionately. I still feel butterflies every time he kisses me. With that, he hugged me and kissed my forehead, and walked back to his car. I waved at him, and he returned the wave. I watched him drive away, and entered my house with my house key.

-end of flashback-

"OOHH MYY LLAMAS!!" Peyton said, taking in the entire story. "I can't believe you are Hayes Grier's girlfriend!!" She said in shock. "Oh!! And something happened to me too.." Peyton said. "Tell me, tell me, tell me!!" I said, putting The Duff in my laptop.

"Ryan asked me out!!" She said, and we both screamed. "Man, I am so glad we went to buy food, or we would still be single." I said. "I didn't even realize that!" Peyton said. We started watching the movie and got really into it, when I got a text message.

It was another text from Nathan.

The message said, "open your front door, I gotta talk to you." Oh gosh. "Pey, look." I said, showing her the message. "Well, go!" She said, motioning towards the door. I sighed and walked out of my room and down stairs. As soon as I opened the door, I was greeted by Nathan's face.

"Hey." he said, blankly. "Hey, what's up?" I said, stepping outside and closing the door. I knew Peyton was eavesdropping, I don't even have to look. "Umm, I wanted to talk to you about what you said yesterday." He said, shifting his weight from his legs.

"There's nothing to talk about!" I said. I was annoyed, why can't he take a hint? "Yeah, well I know you found someone better than me, so I hope you know that I miss you." He said. "Nathan, it's been one day. Nothing has changed." I snapped. "Will you please just take me back? I can't live without you." He pleaded, trying to put his arms around me.

"No! Nathan, no means no. You should probably just leave." I said, moving his arms off me, and walking inside. "Whoa." Peyton said. She was standing right next to the door, listening to us. "I know." I said. "He deserved that, to be honest." She said, as we walked upstairs. "Why can't he just accept that I am with someone else?" I asked.
