I Will Not

I will not tell you that the stars do not Compare to the beauty your eyes possess.
I will not remark on how the red rose
Could be used to paint your cold cheeks.
I will not write a speech on how the sky
Contains the hues in which I dream of you.
I will not sing you loves songs
Or write you anonymous letters.
I will not do all the things that you
May expect from this relationship.
But I will show you the beauty in the stars,
And then gaze at you in the same way.
I will care for the rose and let it grow,
And then I will help you flourish and bloom.
I will point out the colors of the sky,
And then use those shades to paint my dreams of you.
I will not sing you love songs
For I'll be putting together poetry worthy of your ears,
And I will not write you anonymous letters
For I'll toss the pen and simply tell you how I feel.
I will not do all of the things
You would expect from a relationship,
Because you deserve so much more
Than what everyone else receives.
