Child

You grit your teeth to deceive them,
They think you're smiling, don't they?
You clench for fists in your pockets,
Where no one can see your nails digging into your flesh.
Hide your pain, young one,
You're far too wise for someone your age,
And you know they won't understand.
They say that ignorance is bliss
And oh how I know,
You would trade that beautiful brain
Just to be naïve once again.
This pain will end one day,
Because you are warrior
Despite being only a child.
Your broken pieces will mend
And now they will know how to not break.
You will come to realize that the loneliness in you,
Is only your lack of patience with those souls whom can't understand.
Survive another day little one
Because one day you won't be little,
And there will be more troubled souls
Whom need guidance in a world
That will never recognize brilliant minds
Hidden beneath all that pain.
