As I'm lost in a train of thought, I didn't hear the set of clicking heels in front of me, halting at a stop a foot away from my feet.
"Hey there, little late to be out sitting, you'll catch your death in this cold." That warm voice snapped me out and my head up, gazing into her hazel orbs as she smiles down at me. "Toshizo, I give you one job, to mind our daughter and you've lost her," Chizuru playfullym scolds in a sarcastic tone as she rest a hand on her bump with a finger waving in my face. Laughing, I reply,"Oh, I'm sorry. I thought that since we were having another one, we should get rid of the old and make way for the new." "Hijikata you disgrace of a man, tut tut," Chizuru laughs loudly stopping as she catches the worry in my eye. "What did that little madam tell you?" An eyebrow twitches as she knows Lalia said something. "She says you were crying, why?" Chizuru trembles as I question her, something she use to do when she was younger. "It's nothing. I'm not, it's not important." How could she says she not important, this woman, this clueless woman still hasn't got it after 6years of marriage and almost two children what she means to me. "Baka," I playfully hit her head earning a genuine smile as she looks up to me, face looking pale but glowy like the sun reached down and kissed only her. "You look glowy, darling," I add, gently kissing her temples. "Yeah, you're flirting isn't going to work Mister, I'm still going through the result of your last flirting mission," she laughs loudly as she points to her stomach. We both stand there, laughing until she whispers in my ear," I miss you terribly." My heart grew heavy, in the end it was my fault that she was saddened terribly. "I wish I could come home, darling," I reply gently, wiping a little tear that rolled down the apples of her lightly flushed cheeks. Just then, I remembered the spare room I was making for her at the headquarters that was decorated by Senhime to meet with Chizurus non materialistic needs. "You know, you can stay here with me, Lalia and you," I smirk whilst catching her gasp with happiness in the corner of my eyes. "Oh Toshizo," she smiles, kissing me until we are interrupted by a yuck from a little Lalia and big Shinpachi, Chizuru giggling.
Nights at the Shinsengumi are about to get a little more...interesting.
