Chapter 27

Shinpachi POV
Well wasn't last night eventful! I couldn't sleep a wink with everything that happened. Since when was Chizuru such a badass? I mean, I've seen her countless times knock men senseless but how she was walking and carrying herself with those injuries, we're talking major warrior strength, heck I couldn't do it!
Last night, I could hear her whimpering from Yamazakis as Hijikata left to check on Lalia, God bless her. I decided to go investigate, Harada thinking the same as he tracked behind. We open the door to see Chizuru sitting at the top of the bed, holding the headboard as Yamazaki sits crouched at her ankle.
"Sheesh, sorry Chizuru but that looks awful. Worse I've ever seen," says Yamazaki in the least comforting way possible. "Thanks Yamazaki," laughs a drained Chizuru, still holding the headboard as though it'd run away.
"Alright, I think that the bone will heal properly if I snap it, allowing it to realign to its before position," Yamazaki speaks with a professionalism hindering his voice as Chizuru looks at him, going deathly pale but nodding all the same. "I don't think I have to mention that it's going to be extremely painful," cringed Yamazaki as he looks to Chizuru, an apologetic face as he's the one that will in evidently hurt her. "Should I get Hijikata?" I asked as I look at her, she looks as though she's about to faint. "No, it's alright. Right, hand me that short blade and cloth," she points to the one behind Harada as he nervously hands it to her, probably thinking she'll kill her self or something stupid like that. "What you doing, Chi-," Harada soon gets his answer as Chizuru wraps the handle with the cloth, placing it in her mouth and biting on it. "You ready?" Yamazaki takes hold of her ankle as she squirms a lot already. I sit myself down beside her, taking her free hand that was clinging the headboard. "1,2,3," Yamazaki quickly snapped the ankle, the sound making me cringe as Chizuru screamed in biting, tears pouring her eyes as she buries her head into my chest, her face feeling damp from her tears against flesh. "I'm sorry, Chiz," Yamazaki begins strapping her grossly coloured foot as she sits up, patting his head and smiling at him saying,"It was nothing, it didn't hurt." "HEH? How could that not hurt," Heiskue joins with a green Harada by the door, Harada isn't very good with things like this which is strange for a supposedly warrior. "Chizuru, you don't have to lie on my account," said Yamazaki with his back tuned whilst he retrieved another bandage. "Listen boys," laughed Chizuru,"Id rather have that pain all day long than give birth." She was still laughing while we all shuddered, damn that's bad.
"It couldn't be that bad Chizuru," said Heiskue as he advanced over with a curious grin on his face. "Oh, because you'd know because you've been pregnant Heiskue," replied a smart Chizuru with a raised brow and a smirk. "Well, erm, no, obviously, Ofcourse not," blushed Heisuke as he kicked his feet. We all laughed at the poor man, him joining in the laughter.

Now, this morning, we have arrived at Edo, thank god! I help unload the bags with Saito as I hear squeals of laughter behind me. There I see Hijikata lifting Chizuru up into his arms bridal style as she squeals with laughter, Lalia lapping behind. "I said, put me down sir, I'm fine," laughs Chizuru. She looks so tiny in his arms, it's rather cute. "No, I'm sorry miss I cannot do that," he replies as she huffs, trying to act annoyed. I catch Saito smiling at the pair happily as he slings the bags over his shoulder. I always knew he'd a soft spot for the couple, he always seemed happier when he was with the pair, his expressionless face finally showing an emotion when he's with them.
We all get back to the compound, Hijikata not once putting her down the whole way which annoyed Chizuru greatly. "Toshizo, you put me down this instant!" She stormed as we enter, Kondo waiting for is along with Sanansan by his side. Reluctantly, Hijikata allowed his wife to walk, well waddle on her whacked up ankle and also because she was the size of a house, dare she hear me I'd be dead! Kondo rushes and hugs her tightly as Lalia runs and hugs "Sanny".
Although no one has said anything, they are all thrilled the Shinsengumi girls are back, for good!
