After I met with Chizuru and Lalia I wandered around the boring streets of this boring town that I really want nothing to do with, at all. Perhaps I should just give up my attempts at regaining Chizuru and Lalia as my family and head back to Edo without them and let them and the baby live a peaceful life here where I'm sure Chikage will provide for them. I was walking up an alley when I heard two sets of feet stop behind me, appearing from thin air.
"We have news for you, Hijikata," I voice said warmly behind me. I turn around to see Kyo and Amagiri standing there, hands held up as they show they mean no harm.
I have no interest in what those bastard Demons have to say to me so I continue walking until Kyo says, "We can help you, if you care." Ofcourse I bloody care!
"What do you mean?" I ask inquisitively as the pair share glance then nod to each other. "As much as I hate to admit it, I want to help you here," Kyo starts as Amagiri continues,"We value both Chizuru and Lalia highly and seem this behaviour of Kazamas disgusting thus we will help them be returned to you." I'm speechless, these demons are really going to help me, their arch enemy?
"Thankyou so much. Words cannot express my gratitude to both of you," I reply. Kyo looks at me with eyes slightly closed, "This may come at a price, though. As strong as we are, Kazama Chikage is stronger and we cannot fully guarantee that Chizuru or Lalia will not be harmed." Amagiri looks at my face and continues,"In saying that, we will pay him for whatever he may or may not do to them. Have no fear Hijikata, he will not be let of lightly." Amagiris' warm smile reassured me that hopefully everything may work out. "What about the repercussions that this may have on you," I ask as I'm aware that the pair will not get off helping me so easily. "Ah, we will deal with that when the time comes," Kyo waves, acting a lot like Okita which makes me smirk.
"Be sure of this," Amagiri adds,"I will only help you this one time merely because it involves Chizuru and Lalia and they are my concern." "I understand," I reply with a nod.
The two demons evaporate away as I return to the den, looking at my wedding ringing gleaming under the light.
Hopefully their plan works...
