ALLEY POV
"Are you sure?"

"Yes Charlie I'm fine" Charlie asked the same thing after people left, "are you ok?", like seeing people was the hardest thing I've ever done. I mean I gave
birth for goodness sakes!

After days of visits, mostly from people who really didn't care, they just came because 'it was the right thing to do', it was finally over... "The doctor says you can go home today" this was the best thing I've ever heard my mum say. "Yes!" I may have said it a bit loudly but who cares.

"Wow" I stood amazed in the doorway of my room, there was a wooden cot with a pretty bird mobile hanging above it, the blanket Charlie and I had picked out was hanging on the side and a brand new change table next to it.

"It's just until we can make a proper nursery" mum told me.

"It's perfect"

Charlie came in with Emma in his arms. "Al it's time you held Emma by yourself, you need to trust yourself enough to hold her." I nodded, I knew I had to be able to hold Emma without Charlie or my mum helping me.

Charlie and I sat on the couch. Charlie put a pillow on my knee and then Emma on top of it, he positioned my arms around her little body, her bright eyes starred up at me, she truly is the most beautiful baby girl. While I held Emma in my arms I rested my head on Charlie's shoulder in response he gently kissed the top of my head.

"Charlie, Alley needs her rest. You can come back tomorrow" mum came in.

"Of course, goodnight my beautiful girls" he then kissed Emma and I before leaving.

I sat for a while, enjoying the feel of Emma in my arms when I looked down and realised she was asleep. I carefully got up and walked slowly into my room, I gently placed Emma into her cot and went out into the kitchen.

"I've made you dinner... I also made a bottle for Emma when she wakes up"

"Thank you, mum" I said with true gratitude.
"For everything you've done for me, through all of this"

"Sweety, of course" she pulled my into a tight hug and stoked my hair.

"Always, I will always be here for you, alley"

We then both sat down and enjoyed the dinner mum had made, it was way better than hospital food. Emma started crying, she only seems to cry when Charlie's not around, it's like she knows. I tiredly got up to go and calm her when mum put her hand on top of mine and went to get Emma.
