Imagine 47: Luke Robert Hemmings (High Up)
imagine being neighbors with fetus!luke and being around his age in this one (-:The Hemmings always seemed like a nice family.
When you'd first moved to Sydney, they were your family's first friends, and now, three years later, your mom and Mrs. Hemmings were practically sisters, crossing the street almost weekly to catch each other up with what's going on in their lives.
Unlike most neighbor friends, they'd never tried to push their kids, together so that they'd be just as close.
In fact, the most recent time you'd seen the Hemmings brothers was during the eldest's, Ben's, birthday party more than half a year ago since you went to a different school.
So imagine your surprise when you see a chubby, blonde boy climbing a tree nearby.
You didn't really recognize the climber, your eleven year old curiosity making you venture outside to see who it was.
You run towards the base of the tree, looking up to the thick branches and squinting, the sun getting in your eyes.
It was a pretty hot day out, and even though you were standing in the shade underneath the tree, it didn't stop sweat beads from forming on the sides of your face.
The blonde boy adjusts his position on the tree, holding onto the branches beside him tightly, a look of triumph on his features.
"Hey!" You call out at him, his distant blue eyes looking at you curiously.
"You're Luke, right? One of the Hemmings'?" You ask, putting both hands on your small hips.
"Y-Yeah," he answers shakily before asking for your name, which you give him with a smile.
"This your first time climbing?" You ask.
He nods his head vigorously, his proud expression coming back.
"So how you gonna come down then?"
At your second question, he pales considerably, only fully realizing how high up he is, a sheen of sweat on his flushed skin.
"I-I don't know." He says, trying to keep the nervousness out of his voice, wanting to stay brave. Especially since you were here.
Luke's eyes widened as he watched you get started on climbing the tree yourself.
"What're you doing?!" He asks, bewildered.
You don't respond until you're two branches away from him.
"I'm gonna sit up there with you 'til someone comes by with a ladder, duh." You tell him as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
He looks at you with utter disbelief as you make yourself comfortable beside him.
"So what do you want to do while we wait?" You ask, dusting your hands off and smiling.
