Chapter Thirteen: They mustn't know

Emma's POV

"What? No she couldn't!" I say. My eyes starting to water. "We are going to bring her up well, she won't know about any of this." I cried. "The future is set, I'm sorry. No matter how you bring her up, this curse is going to happen" Merlin explains. I placed my hand over my mouth and bursted out into tears. My only chance of having a normal life with kids was ruined. Killian grabs my and pulls me into a tight hug. I hear muffled sounds and could tell he was crying too. I still had Freya in my arms and I stared down at her and rubbed her tiny hand.

"No, we always find a way to defeat the darkness and we always succeed." I say. I place Freya back in her basket and lift it up. "Your prophecy is wrong, I'm sorry we must be going." I say as I headed out the door. Killian walked behind me and I ran down the stairs. "Swan! Swan! You know all of Merlin's prophecies come true. Swan listen to me!" He shouts running after me. I stop and turn to face him. "And don't you believe me!! We will find a way to change Merlin's prophecy and I won't let anything happen to my children because I didn't wait this long for the life I always wanted to be ruined!!" I said shouting as the tears poured out of me. "Emma... Of course I believe you, you just need to calm down." He says and hugs me.

"I just want to be the perfect mother to my kids and I feel like I've already done an awful start." I said into Killian shoulder. "Then they don't need to know, Freya and Liam mustn't know." He says. "No! I'm not doing what my parents did to me and lie about it! She needs to embrace it before she gets older!" I said. "Emma, we mustn't. If you want her to live a normal life then she should discover who she is by herself and when she does then we will help her." Killian says. "Okay, okay" I say pulling out of the hug and holding my head.

We walked out of the castle and back into the forest to find the door. When we found it we walked back through the white smoke ahead of us.

Killian's POV

We were standing back in our castle just as we had left it. I kissed Emma on the head and walked downstairs to get something. Emma walked upstairs and into the twins room. When I walked upstairs I stood at the doorway and looked into the room. Emma had set Freya and Liam in their cribs. She rocked them both to sleep and smiled down at them. I walked up behind her and placed my hand on her hips. "Hey love, I've got something." I said. She looked down and saw keys in my hand. "What are they for?" She asked. "The library, I thought you might have wanted to lock it." I said. "Whatever for?" She replied. "So Freya and Liam don't learn about the dark curse." I explained. "The storybook...." She whispered. "What? The storybook? What about it?" I asked. "It has our stories, the curse and all of our history. I don't even want them to know I have magic, its to much to process." She explained. "The storybook should be in Henrys room." She said again. I nodded and I ran to Henrys room. When I ran back to the nursery Emma wasn't there. I ran up to our room to find her on the balcony.

"Should've known I would've found you here." I said walking up behind her. "Did you get it?" She asked. "Yup, it was right where you said it was." I said as I handed it to her. "We need to hide it, think of a good place where we could." She said. A few silent moments later and she perked her head up. "Rumples vault, where he said he puts the darkest of magic that he wouldn't even dare to go in himself." She said. "Good thinking Swan." I said. She smiled and hugged me. "We should head out now, I'll get the nanny too look after the twins." She said. "Okay, now get your cloak on its a little chilly out here." I said and I kissed her forehead. "Let's go" she says smiling.

We walked out of the palace and hopped into the carriage. Emma sits beside me and I cuddle her. I held her hand as she rested her head on my shoulders. "Don't worry love, we will sort this all out and live normally again." I said whispering in her ear. "I hope your right Killian." She replied.
