Chapter Thirty Four: The test

Killian's POV

"Emma?" I whispered. I was shocked. Emma had transformed back into the dark one again. She had embraced the darkness and it was new for me as she hadn't embraced it ever before. She stood over me smiling like nothing had happened.

"Killian." She whispered smiling. She leaned forward to kiss me but I sat up which caused her to back out. "What's wrong?" She asked confused. "Emma, look at yourself. Your dark. I...I can't love you like I used to." I tell her. "What?" She says as tears form in her eyes. "You don't love me anymore because I'm dark?" She continued. "No, no its not that. Its just I've seen what loving a dark one can do. They manipulate you and use your love when no one else wants them or they have done something horrible to someone else. I can't let you do that to me" I tell her.

She steps back and stares at me with pain in her eyes. She begins crying and then all of a sudden stops. "Its okay. I get everything your saying. I can hurt your heart and I don't want to do that to you. You don't deserve it." She sighs. "I'm sorry Killian." She cries. I stood up off the bed and hug her. "Hey its okay. I don't want to seem rude at all. But look at what Gold did to Belle. He lied to her and broke her heart. I just don't want that to become our relationship." I explain to her. She nodds and backs out of the hug.

"Well, I'll leave you to it then." She smiled. She walked out of the room leaving me in the room with Liam. Liam runs up to me and hugs me tightly.

"Hey kiddo. How are you?" I laugh as he hugs me. "I missed you." He giggles. "Wish I could say I miss you, I liked that little break I had." I laughed again. "Dad. I can't take you seriously." Liam laughs too.

After spending a few minutes I the bedroom with Liam we decided to go find Emma who we assumed was somewhere in the castle. But when we asked where she was no one seemed to know. Until a butler came out and told us that she had left the castle to take a walk in the forest. Me and Liam then agreed we should go out and follow her and bring her home me before she did something stupid.

We left the castle on foot and we didn't want to take horses in case Emma heard us coming. "Mom wouldn't do anything silly right?" Liam asks me. I state at him blankly. Emma can do some really silly things when it comes to magic. "I hope not lad. But we will find her. I promise."

Freya's POV

"So tell me. What's been going on lately? Why are you out here by yourself. I'm pretty sure mom wouldn't let you out here all alone." Henry asks me. "Your right. Mom wouldn't let me out here by myself. But its not a problem because mom has another thing to worry about." I explain to him. "What? Are you trying to say that mom doesn't care if your out here all alone? That's not like her." Henry smiles.

"No. Im saying I found out her little secret. About my magic and her life in the other realm. I can't really trust her anymore." I explain to him. He stares at me while we continue to walk.

"I'm sorry Freya." He says all of a sudden. "What for? You didn't do nothing?" I replied. "I did. I was born in that realm. I grew up there. Spent most of my life there until mom brought us here. She was born here. Everyone else was, except me." He began to explain. "Also I left so I didn't feel guilty for keeping secrets from you. That 3 year journey was to cover my pain from you, from everyone. And I returned because i felt that you deserved to know the truth. But I guess I'm obviously too late for that." He continued. "Henry. It doesn't matter anymore. I'm over it. I want to go home and be a normal family again. I forgive mom. I know she was just doing what she felt was right for us." I smiled. I hugged Henry again.

"Awwk look at this. A little family reunion." I turn to see Rumple standing in front of me with my heart and the dagger in his hands. "What do you want?' I asked him. "Freya? What is he doing here.' Henry snapped. "Hello Henry long time no see." Rumple giggled. "What do you want with my sister?" Henry roared and pulled his sword out. "Tut tut. You have some anger in there dearie. But your asking the wrong person. How about you ask your dear sister, why I have a heart and the dark one dagger with your mothers name on it." Rumple snarled.

"Freya?" Henry asks concerned. I ignore him and keep staring at Rumple. "Freya answer me!" Henry shouted. "Mom is the dark one still and Rumple wants me to cast the curse even though I don't want to so he took my heart to control me. Okay? I'm sorry." I shouter back at him. "Oh Freya." Henry gasped. He pulled me into a hug and I began to cry again. "I'm sorry." I whispered again into his shoulder.

"Aww well its too late to cry and cuddle now. You have a job to do Freya." Rumple snarled. "What do you mean?" Henry asks. "I have to test her. See if she will actually crush the heart of the thing she loves most." Rumple replied. "And who is that?" Henry asked. "Mom." I whispered. "What?!" Henry shouted. "Whoops." Rumple giggled. Henry pointed his sword at Rumple's neck as Rumple continued to giggle.

Rumple flicked his wrist and the cuff fell off my arm. He then raised his arm with my heart in it and stared at it. I lost control of my self and Rumple had now got power over me.

I shoved my hand into Henry's chest from behind causing him to shriek in pain. He dropped his sword as I ripped out his heart. I began crying in shock of what I was doing but I couldn't stop myself. Henry fell to his knees in agony as I stared at the glowing red heart in my hand. I began to shake in fear. What if Rumple makes me crush my own brothers heart? I couldn't bear it.

"Now crush it." Rumple smiled. I looked up at Rumple and he nodded his head towards my hand. I could feel the strain in my hand as I told myself not to crush it but my hand gave in. I squeezed it but before I squeezed too hard I got control of myself again.

I looked up and my mom had blasted Rumple back which knocked off the connection of him telling me what to do. I loosened my grip on Henrys heart and looked down at him. I knelt down and placed his heart back in his chest. He groaned but stood up and hugged me again.

"Freya!" My mom shouts running over to me. "Mom!" I ran over and hugged her tightly. "Are you okay? Are you hurt?" She say holding my arms. "No, I'm fine. Me and Henry are fine." I said smiling as I looked over to Henry.

My mom also looked over and noticed Henry. She smiled even more and ran over to Henry. "Oh my goodness Henry I missed you!" She cried. "I missed you too mom." Henry laughed.

We hear more footsteps and Liam and my dad ran came out of nowhere. "Emma!" Killian shouted. My mom kissed him and held his hand.

"Not so fast." Rumple stood up. He's looking his revenge.
