Percival's Pov

I sat at the bottom of the bed leaning against the post with my head resting against the solid wood, while watching Adela sleep. Looking so peaceful.

She lay on her back with one arm at her side and the other up beside her head, and her head tilted to the side. She was like sleeping beauty, only more beautiful. Deep in dream, or maybe in nightmare.

I just wish I could have stopped it from happening to her, I feel like I am a useless husband for not stopping it, for not realising that it happened. My so-called best friend, who was like a brother to me, betraying me in one of the worst way possible. He will never have my loyalty ever again.

Arthur told me before I married her to look after her, and I will, with my life. Gwaine will pay for what he has done.

I close my eyes and try to forget what has happened, but it's no use, instead I can only think of what Adela's pain may have been. Snapping out of deep thought I head a knock at the door.

I turn to look through the darkness of the room and seeing the light coming under the door blocked by two figures. Slowly I got up off the warm space of the bed where I was sat and walked over to the tall wooden door, beginning to hear two voices that I recognized.

I opened the door letting the light into the chamber. There stood in front of me stood Leon and Mordred.

"I don't need to tell you to come in," I say to them as I allow them into the room.

"Percival, Arthur wants you to come help look for Gwaine, and Mordred to stay with Adela," Leon said, as he leans against the long wooden table opposite the door. "You were meant to be on patrol anyway,"

"I don't want to leave her, what if she wakes?"

"Then I will send for you right away," Mordred replies to me. Mordred is like a brother to her, he has been since they met each other. She will be safe with him.

"Ok, just make sure you keep her safe," I told him, and turn to the bed where Adela still lay peacefully. I slowly walked up to her side and kissed the top of her head, and whispered 'I love you' in her ear.

I looked up and saw Mordred sitting at the other side of the bed next to the window looking out at the courtyard of the castle. He looked as worried as I did, he must be as scared for her as I am.

I pick my sword up off the little table at the bottom of the bed as quiet as possible, trying not wake Adela, looking up Adela was still asleep.

I walk to the door where Leon waited and closed the door slowly and quietly leaving Adela in the care of her brother-like friend.

Leon walked ahead of me leading me to the council chamber where Arthur and the other knights waited for us to retire to begin the search for Gwaine.

Arthur's Pov

I sat in the throne at the end of the room as we all waited for the two final knights to arrive. I watched as the two big wooden doors opened into the council chamber as Leon and Percival walk through ready for the search.

"As you know we are searching for Sir Gwaine, after what he has done to my daughter, we will not rest till he is found,"

The knights listened carefully. I turned to each in turn. They looked sad, searching for a friend will hurt them, but they are noble and know their duties to Camelot. I noticed Percival standing further back than usual, looking to the ground.
